how to install audio triggers

Here's how to install a special set of audio triggers such as these. This will override your default triggers, if any, but you'll be able to restore your defaults when the event is over.

First, in your Everquest\audiotriggers folder, create a NEW folder called, say, Foresight. Copy all the .wav files into that folder. Then take the .ini file and copy it into your Everquest\userdata folder, renaming it to be AT_Foresight_charactername_servername.ini, where the charactername and servername are replaced as in other UI file names.

You then have to exit and restart your client (logging out or even zoning might be enough, I haven't checked). When you bring up the audio triggers window for your character, the "Trigger set" menu should include Foresight. Select it and it will load the audio triggers in that AT file, and also use the .wav files in the Foresight folder. (In general, the AT_triggername_xxx file will list triggers that can use any sounds from the Audiotriggers\triggername folder as well as Audiotriggers\shared. The AT_default_xxx file that most people use simply uses the shared + default .wav files, where the default folder is what gets downloaded as part of the game.)

Instructions in Readme file not working

The download I supplied does not work as intended. I didn't create the readme.txt or the process, I only changed the audio files to be a computer voice. The original files author was sunaeri.

There are instructions to copy the AT_triggers_charactername_servername.ini file to your userdata directory (ie. c:\program files\sony\everquest\userdata) then to rename the file by replacing the charactername with your characters name and the servername with your server.

I dont know if its a bug or it never worked properly that way. To get around the issue, instead I copied the contents of the AT_triggers_charactername_servername.ini file into my AT_default_charactername_server.ini file, which is also in the userdata directory but does not exist unless you make at least one custom audio trigger with the games UI. Be careful though, because if you replace what you already have in the file you will lose your own custom audio triggers. Also if you just append the text to the bottom of the file and leave in what you have, then the code will not match up correctly and everything will not work.

One option would be to rename your current AT_default_charactername_servername.ini file to .bak instead of .ini then rename AT_triggers_charactername_servername.ini to AT_default_charactername_servername.ini. This will allow you to come back at any point and undo what you have done easily be doing the reverse.

Either way you will need to completely exit the game and log back in for it to take effect.

You might even want to make your own triggers using the sounds I provided in the zip file by using the interface. The nice thing is the sounds will be there to assign to a pattern if you have followed the instructions to copy them to the audiotriggers\shared folder.
