Description
Myxiplx's Tiny Map v2

This is a tiny map I created to fit in with my custom UI's. It's fully featured and surprisingly usable, and with the ability to toggle between two background colours, I think it's the best map available right now.

New Features
  • Toggle between two background colours
    (No more squinting because one map has white lines and another black)
Full Features
  • Tiny map window (340x238 pixels)
    small enough to be kept on-screen without interfering with your view
  • Integrated view of all bag contents
  • Removed naviation controls
    (Designed to be used with a wheel mouse - drag to move and use the wheel to zoom)
  • Fully working Atlas
Note: Be careful if you have bags with less than 10 slots. As with all expanded inventory mods, all ten slots are shown regardless of how many your bags actually have. EQ in the past lost items if you tried to place them in a slot that doesn't exist.

As I said before, this was designed to fit in with my custom UI's, and to get the most out of this map, I recommend my EQ button with armour slots, and a potion belt. The EQ button fits right beside the map and makes it very easy to swop armour and get to clickies. The potion belt acts like an auto-inventory dropper, anything you drop on it will go straight to your inventory, and for non-potion items it doesn't even affect your potion slots

The Atlas is fully working, but has to be squeezed in as it's still the original size. Eventually I'd like to resize it, but it looks like a huge amount of work and I've a lot more mods to get done first. Personally I don't use the atlas though, I found out you can print out the whole thing from Allakhazam's screenshot gallery:

Credits
Credit where credits due, there's a lot of my own work in here, but I started from a small map made by someone else. I'm not 100% sure where that came from as I've been using a shrunken map for ages, and I've edited it so many times it hasn't looked like the original for a looooong while

However, I believe the original tiny map I downloaded was blackdragons mini map. It's a great little map with no atlas which I used to have transparent at the top of my screen:

The inventory tab uses code taken from fonceur's expanded inventory. (Thanks bud, your code saved me a lot of typing), I just copied his bag code and modified it slightly to fit the space I had available:

One of my computers now crashes consistently with any small map that I find on this forum; this was always my favorite map. The other one doesn't as much. I have enjoyed this map for years! Went back to the default for a few weeks now and bleck!

Any way get this working agian!!

Was hoping someone could update this map, i had to final remove from my ui cause of crashing issue. So ive go it down to only certian zones im crashing in it undershore, stoneroot,corathus,and shadowrest if that help at all!

Why? If SoE hadn't messed up they'd still be hidden. Resizing them is extra work for no extra benefit, especially since they'll be disappearing soon anyway.

Well, if you *have to* use them ... why not define as 1 x 1 pixel graphics and place them where you need a small dot for example?

Just an idea .

Yup, EQ doesn't let you remove some controls and I had no plans to use the zoom buttons, so the workaround is to move them off screen

As you say, they wouldn't show up except for the recent size problems, and they'll disappear again once SoE get their patches out.

There's a bug inside map

The two "Zoom in" and "Zoom out" buttons are outside of the defined window size (see picture; UI reloaded with new map file, but old ini). Maybe the crashes have their cause in this.

Re: This Crashes my AYA 850

Hiya,

My map should work fine anywhere, it's designed to be standalone, but if you're getting crashes it sounds like the AYA interface may have pieces in it's own map that it re-uses elsewhere. It's common for authors to re-use pieces to save memory. I'd say that's the most likely option, but it's also possible I made a mistake and missed something in my map .

EQ logs all the problems loading a UI in the UIerrors.txt file in your everquest folder. If you send me that file I should be able to see where the problem is.

You will see loads of 'file not found' errors in that file, those are normal. The important part will be in the last 3-4 lines, it'll say exactly which file had an error and what it was, and it's just these lines I need.

To get the log of the errors:
- Copy your working AYA folder to a new folder for testing (just don't use spaces in the name)
- Copy my map files into that test UI
- In EQ, use /loadskin to load the test UI
- As soon as you get the error, open c:\program files\sony\everquest\UIerrors.txt
- Use /loadskin to load the working AYA UI again

I'm going to be making a larger version of the map in a few weeks time, I might be able to make an AYA compatible version then too.

This Crashes my AYA 850

I like AYA 850 except for the Map interface and banking interface. I decided to try this interface by simply copying it to my 850 interface folder. And, it would not load and defaulted back to eq default. I am surprised it did this, seems to me it should work.

I proceeded to download your full UI compilation and tried it out on one of my twinks and its pretty good and specially love the map feature, but I cant say I want to reset all my interfaces to it at this time.

What do you think would cause my map thing to crash and be unable to simply download and use the map portion inside AYA?
