This is an EverQuest UI pieced together from many other UI packages, and in part customized by me.

The base of the UI is the WatUI, which is a very sleek and minimalistic UI with a blue color tone. It is class-agnostic in the sense that the player window adapts to whether you have mana, endurance or both. I have modified the WatUI in three aspects:

1) I have deleted certain pieces that I didn't see fit or necessary to "upgrade", i.e. just using the default pieces instead.
2) I have added/replaced pieces from other UI packages (or single UI elements) from www.eqinterface.com.
3) I have modified pieces from WatUI, the default UI and from other packages to suit my own liking.

Furthermore, I have hacked a bit here and there to keep the UI compatible with the latest EQ patches, mostly in the EQUI_Animations.xml file which is quite "sensitive" to patches. Here are, as best as I can recall, the changes I have made. All pieces have been found on www.eqinterface.com.
  • EQUI_ActionsWindow.xml: From "New World RoF", customized to make the Socials tab the first.
  • EQUI_AggroMeterWnd.xml: Customized, smaller and more compact.
  • EQUI_BazaarWnd.xml: From "Halelen's No Scroll Bazaar" (trader window).
  • EQUI_BigBankWnd.xml: From AYA UI.
  • EQUI_ChatWindow.xml + EQUI_ChatContainerWindow.xml: From Sparxx UI
  • EQUI_CombatAbilityWnd.xml: From "WL Mini 8 slot combat abilites", customized to 40x40 pixel buttons.
  • EQUI_Container.xml: From Vertblue UI.
  • EQUI_ExtendedTargetWindow.xml: From "Hal's Horizontal Extended Target".
  • EQUI_Inventory.xml: From Sparxx UI
  • EQUI_MercenaryManageWnd.xml: From Sparxx UI, customized.
  • EQUI_PetInfoWindow.xml: Customized, removed minimum size restrictions.
  • EQUI_ShortDurationBuffWindow.xml: From "Geddine's buff/song window (Mini version)", resized, removed border, made movable. Note that the height of the window has been set to 224 pixels, which allows for 14 buffs (each 16 pixels tall) to be shown, as this fits my own liking. To increase the height of the window, and allow more buffs to be shown, simply change the value "224" on line 1395 in the file EQUI_ShortDurationBuffWindow.xml.
  • EQUI_TradeskillWnd.xml: From "Lights Tradeskill Mod v3.01", customized
  • EQUI_TributeBenefitWnd.xml: From "Tiny Tribute Benefit Window (listboxes re-added)", resized and customized.
Installing

Extract the directory "zliz" to your \EverQuest\uifiles directory. Fire up EQ, and load the "zliz" UI.

When upgrading to a new version, it's a good idea to delete all existing files in the \zliz directory.

  • v11, December 28, 2019
    • Updated for the December 18, 2019 patch.
    • Overhauled the Player window (the one with your own HP, Mana, etc.). It how has percentages for both HP and Mana, wider bars, properly displays group roles, and the new AA/AAXP percentages with decimals.
    • Updated Inventory window from Sparxx UI.
  • v10, March 15, 2019
    • Updated for the March 13, 2019 patch.
    • Updated Inventory window from Sparxx UI.
    • Updated Big Bank window from AYA. Larger icons, supports up to 6 shared bank slots.
    • Updated Chat window with tabs from Sparxx UI (no title bar).
    • Removed the title bar from the Actions window to make it more compact.
  • v9, July 30, 2018
    • Updated for the June 20, 2018 patch.
    • IMPORTANT!: When updating to this version, please delete the existing files in your \uifiles\zliz directory, since a bunch of files have been deleted. The old files might cause conflict.
    • Deleted a bunch of old, obsolete and/or unnecessary UI files. The less files that need updating in the future, the better: EQUI_HtmlWnd.xml, EQUI_InspectWnd.xml, EQUI_KeyRingWnd.xml, EQUI_LeadershipWnd.xml, EQUI_MercenaryInfoWnd.xml, EQUI_SpellDisplay.xml, EQUI_TargetOfTargetWindow.xml, EQUI_TCGStartupWnd.xml.
    • Cleaned up the mercenary management window.
    • Removed customizations to the spell casting bar. This will allow you to resize the window horizontally and future-proof it for more spell slots (such as the recently added 13th slot). Also makes the icons show properly instead of being cut off.
    • Updated the Combat skill select window with the Timer column.
    • Updated the Merchant window with the latest currency column and other new features.
    • Misc. updates to match the latest official UI.
  • v8, September 26, 2017
    • Updated for the September 20, 2017 patch.
    • The new Find Item button has been added to the inventory and big bank windows. The button on the Inventory window is the small button in the bottom center with the looking glass icon and an F (that's all there was room for in the small inventory window). In the big bank window, the button is in the bottom left corner.
    • Misc. updates to match the latest official UI.
  • v7, January 21, 2017
    • Updated for the January 18, 2017 patch.
    • The inventory window has been updated with the new split values for AC (Mitigation and Evasion) and ATK (Offense and Accuracy) (on the main Inventory tab), plus the new Velocity value (Stats tab).
    • The player window has likewise been updated with the new split AC / ATK values, and additionally, your current Haste % and Velocity has been added.
    • The Stats tab of the inventory window has been cleaned up visually and the values grouped like the stock inventory UI.
  • v6, November 19, 2016
    • Updated for the November 16, 2016 patch (Empires of Kunark).
    • The buff window has been changed so that each buff is now 16 pixels tall, instead of 18. This allows for more buffs to be shown in the same amount of space.
    • The short duration buff (song) window has been slightly compacted. Note that the height of the window has been set to 224 pixels, which allows for 14 buffs (each 16 pixels tall) to be shown, as this fits my own liking. To increase the height of the window, and allow more buffs to be shown, simply change the value "224" on line 1395 in the file EQUI_ShortDurationBuffWindow.
    • Added some missing tooltips to the Tracking window.

    • Updated to the March 25, 2015 patch.
  • v4, May 23, 2014
    • Updated to the May 21, 2014 patch.
    • The color picker (for dyes and map editing) has been fixed to properly show colors.
    • Fixed missing Call of the Forsaken button graphic in the achievements window.

    • Updated to the latest patch.
    • ShortDurationBuffWindow now allows up to 30 buffs.
    • Added auto-combine checkbox to tradeskill UI (to the left of the Done button).

    • Updated to the latest patch.
    • Replaced Kessi mercenary window with the one from Sparxx UI. Note that this involves having a blank page on the standard mercenary inventory page (6th tab in your inventory), and instead has the inventory in a pop-up window accessible from the mercenary management window.
    • Cleaned up the tiny Tribute Window; buttons are now aligned.
    • Cleaned up various small alignment flaws in the border for certain windows.

    • Fixed duplicate A_RadioBtnNormal entry in EQUI_Animations.xml.

Sorry to hear that, works fine on my computer with 1920x1200 resolution.

I have a small suspicion with the new chat boxes - try deleting these two files from the \uifiles\zliz directory:

EQUI_ChatContainerWindow.xml
EQUI_ChatWindow.xml

Then reload and see what happens. Then you should simply get the default UI's chat boxes.

Hi, sorry for not noticing your question sooner.

The spell icons are split in two types:
"spells" - used in the spellbook
"gemicons" - used on the spell bar and on hotkeys.

To revert to the default spell icons, simply delete the files named spells01.tga, spells02.tga through spells07.tga
To revert to the default gem icons, simply delete the files named gemicons01.tga, gemicons02.tga and gemicons03.tga

You can also replace the files with your own downloaded spell images.

Thanks for the tip, I got my Test and Live directories messed up and missed that. I've uploaded a fix.
