DurtyDelt 1680 x 1050

Description
Discussion thread located HERE. Please direct all comments there, not here.

New version released 7-9-08:

This UI is a variant of the DurtyDelt UI originally created by Jordaan, formerly of Triune. It has been updated several times since its inception, and I have changed some of his original designs to fit my own preferences over the years. I mainly offer this up as partial repayment for the years of use this UI has given me, and I hope that others will continue to enjoy it.

Please install the entire contents of the zip file into a new directory.

Major new features:

DurtyDelt is now optimized specifically for 1680 x 1050 resolution, although it will still work well at 1280 x 1024. I have included pieces specifically for use at that size in fact, and they can be found in a subfolder.

All graphic elements are now completely redone, eliminating most of the pixelation, color bleed, etc. from countless updates over the years. Everything should be much cleaner and sharper now. Sorry, but the blue version is a thing of the past because I don't use it. Someone with some skill in Photoshop might be able to mess with the hue and make them work, but I will not be officially supporting them myself. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Reworked the pet window to fit seamlessly with the rest of the UI, and fixed the pet buff icons to show all pet buffs instead of the overlapping mishmash it was before.

Added a new combat abilities window for hybrids that fits above the pet window, allowing quicker mouse access and a cleaner overall look. This is one of the 1680-specific pieces, so the old combat abilities window is still available in a subfolder. Melee combat abilities window is unchanged, and also available in a subfolder.

Changed the potion window to be horizontal and integrated with the rest of the UI. The old vertical version is still available in a subfolder.

Changed the "con" indicator to the 8-way arrow "Chaos" symbol because I was tired of a simple circle, and I found a larger one much easier to notice at a glance (and tell the difference between white con and grey con). However, the old circle is available in a subfolder as well if you don't like the new one.

Reworked the group window, specifically the clicky window attached to it. Again, this is a 1680-specific piece, so if you play in a lower resolution OR just don't like those clickies being there, copy the 1280 piece over instead.

Please note that the clickies are designed in a specific layout to facilitate grouping several clickies/weapons together in bags that all work in one inventory slot. I have taken a screenshot with my first 3 (vertical) bags open to show exactly how those slots all line up. If you like your clickies a specific way, PLEASE make note of them before copying this version over it, because they WILL be changed once you do. And any further updates are likely to do the same, so ALWAYS keep a backup of where your clickies are if you know how to change them yourself. If not, you'll just have to move them around to fit mine, sorry. I can't possibly keep everyone happy on this front because everyone will have a different preference.

The new buff timers Sony added this patch work well enough with this buff layout, so I didn't change anything. There's nothing I can do about the timer for bard buffs hanging out to the right, as they are hard coded (as many people will be complaining about in the coming weeks I'm sure).

I'm probably forgetting something else that changed, but that's all I can think of for now. I hope everyone enjoys the changes as much as I do.

7-10-08: Added UI file you can copy to your main EQ directory and use the Copy Layout option to make it look like mine in 1680 x 1050.

Updated 9-5-08: Voice chat features included.

Please note that the 1680 version has the volume icons to the right of the player health bars, while the 1280 version has the icons inside the actual health bar. This is purely due to space considerations. The player's own volume is located to the right of the compass window on both.

I may seek a better solution after the new expansion is released, but until then I'm not making any major changes because I don't know how the ability to see other player's mana/endurance will affect that window.

Added files for both 1680 and 1280 for use in Copy Layout.

Updated 10-12-08: See discussion thread for details.

Updated again 10-21-08: Minor cosmetic fixes, see discussion thread.

Updated 12-10-08.

Updated 12-13-08.

Updated 2-14-09.

Updated 3-13-09. Hotbutton window updated, save your right click info if you don't want to lose it.

Clickies

I forgot to mention, the clickies are laid out to suit my personal use, and are as follows: The left hand row, from top to bottom, are slots 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, and 9 in my upper left inventory bag. The right hand row are the corresponding slots that are required for me to click them (which is why you see my epic in many of them, because they are clickable from inventory). For example, my upper left clicky slot is a mask that I must equip to give myself a ds buff. My upper right clicky slot is my face slot. So all I do is pick up the item on the left, move it to the right and right click it, then move it back to the left. Takes a matter of seconds for me to put up 6 buffs immediately after rez, and being a buff order stickler that means a lot to me.

If you wish to change those clicky slots, all you need to do is find the appropriate section in the EQUI_HotButtonWnd.xml file. Open the file with Wordpad or something similar, search for "Right Click Pieces 1" (without the quotes) and then change the EQType for each slot as you see fit, using the list on the forums of this board. (Please note, some EQTypes have changed with TBS, so make sure you have the updated listing)

The HoTT bar is currently connected to the spell casting bar only, because I play a hybrid. I didn't even think about the fact that melee don't use that bar, and use combat abilities instead. I've never done much with that section, so let me see what I can come up with. That's why you aren't seeing it though.

Added melee HoTT bar, just copy the files out of the Non Caster folder. To switch back, copy from the Caster folder.

When I posted the update the servers were down and I had to go to bed, and now I'm at work, so I wasn't able to test it. Please let me know if there are any problems.

Am loving this, but after wiping my guild last night in anguish, is there any way to take the melee discs and put them at an easier clickable slot? for some reason I kept moving the UI instead of clicking the disc if I clicked on the bottom half of the discs.

Just wondering I guess if I wanted to take that bar out, what all files would I need to pull out and replace.

Thanks for the update - really like your layout. One question, is there anyway to change the spell gems and icons? I am used to the old style gems and would like to change them but the UI doesn't recognize the .tga extension and I'm not familiar with the .dds extension. Thanks for the fast update and great ui.

There are two ways you can do that. One, save the .tga files you want as a .dds of the same name (which would require a graphic editor of some kind), and copy over mine in your ui directory. Or two, open up the EQUI_Animations.xml file and search for spellsXX.dds, where XX is 01 through 07, and gemiconsXX.dds (01 through 03). Anywhere you find those, replace the .dds with .tga. I believe those are only in the Animations file, but I can't remember either, so you might want to open up the other files in the directory and search for those same words.

Here is an example of one that I'm talking about in the Animations file:

<TextureInfo item="Spells01.dds">
<Size>
<CX>256</CX>
<CY>256</CY>
</Size>
</TextureInfo>

You need to change that to be:

<TextureInfo item="Spells01.tga">
<Size>
<CX>256</CX>
<CY>256</CY>
</Size>
</TextureInfo>

It's pretty easy, just make sure you get them all. Good luck.

I use it with the default cursor, so that is the way I intended it. Are you attempting to load someone else's cursor with it, and that isn't working?
