I've been working on something very similiar to what you guys want. I don't have all the time in the world to put the old spell icons back in so I'll post the info I've gathered while working on it and let you guys see what you can do. I'll still come out with some classes for the old icons but it might be longer then I'd like it to be. Here are two links to all the old spell gems, a excel spreadsheet with the spell icon number and gem number, and a chart that will show you which number the icons are in a quick fashion. You might want to look at what i use,
its a mixture of old/new icons but can be
best described as the old icons with some
minor additions.

hkTrox, great info I love these spell gems. Main problem I am running into though is finding an old ui icon map. I have been using Lucy to look up new icons but without the help of people like this chanter I have been talkin to I wouldn't know what old ui icon to change the spells to.

Heh sorry glayde, one of the zips was a tga file of every variation of a spell gem you could think of. I didn't have one of those...I like it alot

Well i had a newicon map to refer to,
but basicly what i did, was combine two
seperate icon sets, and then do a bunch
of modification icon by icon. I was fairly
familiar with all the spells and stuff anyway,
so i'm afraid i dont have a list of
spells <-> old icons.

Yes grottel I'm sorry for not mentioning where I recieved some of my ideas from. I remade that keychart for ease of replaceing and swaping in old and taking out new instead of using your jpg. But that is where I saw that first and thank you very much for posting that it has helped me and I'm sure others who have tried putting old icons into the new ui. As for the file with all the old gems on it that is a file in your eq dir. That program with the old spell icons in it was not made by me. Let me provide a link to the original site.

If it wasn't for others I definately would be lost on where to start on remaking the old spell icons/gems. Have fun with your projects all and I'll keep you updated on how mine is going havn't had a chance to touch it the past few days been real busy with RL things.
