Aeluin or Talyns please read
 

Hi, I love the Aeluin skin. I know both of you have worked on it... Aeluin created it and Talyns did a patch for it. I was wondering if you either of you might have time to make a short duration buff window that displays the song name under the picture... like the normal buff window does.

And my second request is if you could make the spell cast bar run over the stamina bar like in the original Bluefantasy skin.

Hmm... I wonder what happened to Aeluin.. Seems to be MIA since end of Dec.. I hope he doesn't mind me patching that for him :)

I thought I did that for the song window.. I'll look at it.. Must of fudged it up and I think I know how...

Thanks Talyns. It's possible there is something wrong with the bard buff window on my end for all I know... I know nothing about creating/modifying XML :)

No it was my doing... I didn't line up the labels with the icons but anyway.. To fix that real quick download Cairrens buffwindows here:

I'm pretty sure he used her original Horizontal buff bar and that one includes both :)

Well I d/l'd that buff/SDB window link you provided and unzipped it into my aeluin directory, camped out and back in and it gave me an error message that said it was unable to load "aeluin\" and it loaded up the craptastic default UI. Is there some coding I need to adjust somewhere for aeluin to accept the new XML file?

in your EQ folder there's a file named UIErrors.txt cut and paste the contents for me..

try typing /loadskin

The skin selector will open.. Look for aeluin and click the load button...

I would test it for ya.. But, I'm in the middle of formatting my main computer and am working from a 100mhz 486 laptop that won't run EQ :(

Ok I just went through the code for the buffwindows and I think I found the error... Unzip the buff window from my fix to the directory and see if that helps... There's a definition in Cairenn's that is already included in EQUI_Aeluin.xml...

That's weird though cause it shoulda generated an error in the UIErrors.txt

Edit.. In other words use my EQUI_BuffWindow.xml and Cairenn's EQUI_ShortDurationBuffWindow.xml

yes, i reinstalled the buff and SDB window from your fix to make the UI work again. I tried using the /load feature and got the same dump to default UI. =\

Use Aeluin's EQUI_BuffWindow.xml and Cairenn's EQUI_ShortDurationBuffWindow.xml..

I didn't even remember that I included it in the fix :)

Hey! got it to work. Tried using his buff window and cairrens SDB window and it still didnt work. Then I remembered reading somewhere in another thread that you could change any file EXCEPT the UI_aeluin.XML file... which you had replaced in your patch zip. So I replaced your aeluin.xml with the original aeluin.xml, copied his buff window and carriens SDB window and viola! it worked.

So anyway, thanks for all your help and the group/player window is perfect, exactly what I wanted. =)
