Limitation of buttons in windows?

I suffer from carpal tunnel and I'm trying to find a way to save my wrist some movements with the mouse. I my effort I've started by trying to reduce the movements required to sell items. I wanted to add a sell button to my container window so I can more easily select an item and sell it to the merchant who I've linked up with.

I can get the button to show up just fine, but no matter what I do it will not actually sell an item. I have tried this on many merchants (the sell button on the merchant window works fine), but I can't get it to sell using the new button in the container window.

Is the functionality of some UI items tied to the window that it is specifically found in? Can I never have a sell button outside the Merchant window that will function, or have I missed something in my efforts?

As a general rule, anything with an EQType can be moved to other windows. Conversely, anything without an EQType can not be moved. By that definition, most buttons do not qualify.

Specifically stated though, no button that results in an action can be moved to a window other than its original. it is hardcoded to that window.

There is one exception that I know of. You can add a button to any window that simply opens another window. It works, but it is querky.

Yeap the hard cold truth about the eq ui its very hard to do anything special.

The most we can do on modding is to tweak functionality as best we can and graphics.

Thank you all for your quick replies. I guess the next thing I'll have to look into is creating a "sell tab" so to speak. If you can't take the sell button out of the merchant window, maybe I can bring the bag slots into it.
