No UI will work for me now
 

Hi. I logged into EQ the other day after being gone for a week, and my UI wasn't working, so I tried a different one, and still no go. So, I came here and there was an updated version of my fave UI, so I downloaded it, logged into EQ and POOF! Still nothing. I've downloaded a few different new UIs to see if any of them will work and none will. Guess I'm stuck with the default UI unless anyone here has any idea what might be wrong. Nothing changed on my part that would've made the UI's not work.

When you go into the game and select Load UI from the options screen, what choices do you have for UI's to select please?

AYA is the UI that I've used for a long time. DurtyDelt and Graphite are two that I downloaded just in the last couple of days to test if any other UIs would work either, which they don't.

As the author of Graphite, I can confirm it is working.

I understand you have downloaded those three UIs; however, what is listed in the popup Loadskin Window when you type /load in EQ?

If none of them are listed, most likely the UIs were unzipped to the wrong directory. You may possibly have multiple EQ directories due to changes over time with the Station patcher.

While ingame, when you click on the "Load UI Skin" button and you select "AYAF2Pv20" and then press the "Load Skin" button I have no idea why it will not load properly.

Like I said, nothing on my part changed. Everything worked fine a week or so ago before I left, and when I logged back on a couple days ago, no UIs would work.

Your screenshot looks correct.

My next suspicion is the UI folders are nested. The process of zipping the UI for upload creates an extra folder when unzipped.

Your directory should look like:

EverQuest\uifiles\Graphite_v2012-10-08\

I suspect it looks like:

EverQuest\uifiles\Graphite_v2012-10-08\Graphite_v2012-10-08\

That could be the issue for all three UIs.

I'm just going to uninstall and reinstall EQ. I don't see why this won't fix the problem. I have plenty of time on my hands, so how long it takes doesn't make any difference to me. If I still have the same issue or if reinstall fixes the problem, either way I'll let y'all know.

Yeh same for me none of the skins work anymore :(
