How do I edit my spellbar from 10 to 12 slots?
 

I've encountered a very basic problem (I hope anyway). I like everything about the UI I currently use but it will only display 10 out of the 12 spell gems on beta. I need to go in and edit whatever file so I can get all 12 slots displayed. Anyone able to point me in the direction of a quick easy solution? I know nothing about fixing UIs but I assumed this would be a simple problem to solve.

Are you using location tags or using the Vertical auto spacing?

I'm not sure what that means but I did leave out a detail that might be important- my spell bar is split up into two rows of 5, one of top of the other going horizontally. I don't know if that matters or not but thought I'd throw it out there. If you tell me how to check whether or not I'm using Vertical auto spacing or location tags, I'd be glad to look and report back.

I'm guessing its using location tags. Can you attach the file here?

just delete the EQUI_CastSpellWnd.xml out of your UI folder and the defaut one will load automatically. I imagine it will work fine.

Well I tried deleting the spellcastwnd xml file and now it loads up the regular default spell bar..that's not what I'm needing though. I just want the spell bar I was using with the UI to work with all 12 spell slots. I don't see a place to attach files here or I would Savok.

If anyone is able to tell me how to expand that spell bar from 10 slots to 12 slots via editing, I would be very grateful. :nana:

1. Hit Post Reply.
2. In the additional options at the bottom - Manage attachments.
3. Add your xml file (you may need to zip it first).
4. Hit reply.

The only change I'm trying to do is the expansion from 10 to 12 spell slots so I will be fully ready for Underfoot release!

you can google or go to download WinMerge and download the comparision program.

put in your old window and savok's fix.. it will show you the comparison ( show you what he did ).

nice spell bar :) but any chance anyone could edit the 10 slot horizontal to have 12 :) i have tried and got the spell slots to show up but im having issues with the little book icon at the end not showing up on screen :(

I have it done, just want to test it.

edit: here it is! It will auto resize depending on how many AAs you put into retention (8 for reg, then adds 1 slot per AA)
