Quartz UI
 

Having returned to Everquest once again, I have taken to updating this UI.
I have updated and reconstructed the original Quartz interface, as made by my fellow guildie Statix Cinderblade. This follows the invaluable work done by DarkSir23, Seaxouri, Anemonie, and a guildie of mine Ebonylight who were updating this interface prior to now.

I have endeavored to maintain the clean feel of the screen above the dashboard, thus many of the features have been resized to fit within or match the original dimensions. Another important aspect is maintaining the resizable chat boxes in the middle, making the UI work for virtually all screen resolutions. As the game grows and adds different windows and icons, this becomes more and more difficult.

*Reformatted Extended Target Window, but nothing really innovative there
*Reformatted Voice Bar
*Reformatted Potion Belt to fit in the middle (Target/Aura) tier
*Updated Target Window: Added Buff Window and removed Weight section

I noticed that 3.6 shows up as a patch, due to my newbishness at uploading. I will fix that tonight when I get home from work.

3.6 is a full version and does not require nor desire 3.5.

Any chance you could just post the modifications needed to get the older UI working? Not a fan of the new graphics to be honest..

The last working UI I had was Quartz_UF_xxxxx, where the ui was split between melee and hybrid, not sure who made that. I seek only to get that working, I don't need all the new bells and whistles, only wish to get the ui I had working agian.





Both taken a few months ago, but still..

So, so many differences here.

My best guess without looking at the source files would be the animations file. It was the only piece that broke with mine. I'm not sure in what way yours would have been modified, but you could use the one from my version (it wil have 1-increment smaller spellgems) or perhaps just delete it all together and stay with the default UI animations, which will always work.

Yes, it is your animations file.

It bears mentioning that I created my UI from the original that Statix had, and extrapolated from there, using bits and pieces from a few (but not all) of the various Quartz authors over the years.

I have never used whatever version of Quartz you were using, and so I do not have the source files to analyze/create working versions. Nor do I wish to commit the time to maintaining 2 different interfaces.

My recommendation is to move your customs animations file to another folder (not destroying it) and see if that makes a working version that you can live with. Else, I would recommend searching through the current default UI animations and your current non-working one, and find the differences; then update the new one with the required parts.

Love the UI. Recently returned to EQ and I no longer have a desktop but just a laptop. My rez is a weird 1366x768. The UI works perfect with it. The only changes Im going to make are swapping out the buff bars for something without the background. I like to maximize my viewing area, esp. on this screen.

Yes.

A quick-fix option is to copy the EQUI_Animations.xml from the 'default' folder into the 'Quartz_3_6' folder, then relog or reload the UI. That will get it working for the moment.

I am working on adding the new UI slots and a couple other changes. I will upload version 3.7 today.

Some people have requested alternate resolutions.

I compute on a laptop (several, actually, as weird as that sounds) and cannot match many of the standard resolutions.

I will use paint over the screenshot and identify the pieces and where they go.
Look for that over the next couple of days.

Any chance i could get a single hot bar windows? instead of two sparate windows if you need to code i have it. I just have not had time to look into the fix yet

Inventory bags
 

Quartz uses no modified container bags (EQUI_Container.xml), so however they are is the default schema.

Bags are resizable now, so you might try adjusting your bags, or downloading another bag mod and dropping it into the Quartz folder.


I had to adjust the spellgems in the new EQUI_Animations.xml down so that they would fit into the smaller spell window and hotbars.

The hot bar windows were single back before there was an option for multiple hotbars. I haven't done any research to figure out if I could combine hotbuttons from multiple bars into a single window, but I'm inclined to think that that would break the UI.

I'm actually more inclined to figure out how to incorporate hotbars 3 & 4, as the devs continue to increase the number of activated AA abilities.

Update 3.7.1 will be uploaded as soon as I get in game to test the modifications.

Also, I'm working on 4.0, which will cause the UI not to be broken when they update the EQUI_Animations.xml file. Hopefully, that'll make each version last much longer :)

I guess I did a patch instead of updating the base file.

The patch file that was uploaded is the complete 3.9, so install like brand new, for those that downloaded it already (you are really quick, btw!).

I am moving on from Everquest, and will be putting this project down as a result. In this final version, I have attempted to make it as break-proof as I can. This required a return to default spellgem sizes, and I thought, "What better way than to return to the beginning?", so I resurrected Statix Cinderblade's UI, and put things back in their proper place.

I'd like to thank Statix for this beautiful design. I have enjoyed many, many hours of EQ through the lens of this interface.

Thank you to the folks here at EQInterface. Your tireless efforts provide a better gaming experience for so, so many.

I would also like to thank the users of this UI. This is the first time that I have ever "published" anything, and it is quite a thrill to see one's work appreciated.

Seconded. Yep, Hotbar non functional. The UI will still load if you do not make use of the updated animations and window files, just the hotbutton bar is inoperative.

Attempted several fixes, none with success.

Will post the error files in a day or two.

Unfortunately I know little to nothing about XML and often have syntax errors / issues. Otherwise I'd plan to take over the repairs since it would seem no others wish to do so.

Ive been updating this UI for quite a few expansions now. Trying to fix the hotbars. Will post if I do.

I have been updating this UI as well, i am also working on the hot bars but not luck yet anyone fixed the player window yet?

The version I have (pretty much stuck to Statix's basics) seems to have everything you "need" working but the hotbutton window. Guild window is a lil messed up and some other things but that should be fixable. These hotbuttons are lame.
