Well can sort of do it, not really part of the UI but matter of playing with map files and adding what you want, though more you add more cluttered map will become

Can't really do much here. it's just all about lines and dots of different colors. I suppose you could add way too many of them to create some sort of 3D effects but I'm not sure if they would cause performance issues.

Well you can move, resize, change colors, and add different images to the UI but that's about it. Not sure what you mean by improved UI mechanisms - can't really change how UI works.

So there's enough room for change in EQ UI but again it's mostly just moving elements withing a particular window around, changing their size etc. Some elements can be moved between different windows but they have to have EQType.
