My main is a Barbarian Shaman. IMO I'd go with anything other than ogre or iksar because of the xp penalties. Troll is always an option for the extra regen but I'm unsure of any xp penalties with them. As far as stats are concerned you'll have no problem maxing them out with all those wonderfull buffs later in life
And as you mentioned yes Ogres do start out with better stats But str is the only stat much higher than other races....Like I said buffs will max about everything for you a bit later except Wis! So ya! *shakes head* I wouldnt go ogie
