Yeah, I think the guidelines for uploading to eqinterface are that the file needs to be a zip. I don't remember though it's been a long time. A while back I'd wanted to use a rar file but something convinced me not to.

I use Archive::Zip right now, hadn't tried using 7zip on it, kind of surprising to see how much different its results are.
