Ahhh Help!
Once more my computer is on the fritz(if thats even a word). I was hoping that someone out the variety of people here at eq gui would have expirienced the same problems and may know a way how to fix it. If someone can reply before the night is over that would be great, but i know you people are busy so i can wait.
Ok here's the facts:
1) Boot up computer...works fine.
2) Log into computer..works fine.
3) At desktop, files start to load..10 seconds later...computer freezes.
4) During those ten seconds i managed to open my task manager, says my CPU usage is 100%(never been that high b4 in my life).
5)I have 1 gig of ram..so i dont think thats the problem.
6) The only thing I did on it today was clear out some of the files(such as old games and a few spam/spyware files which usually are about casinoes, and I had installed a firewall earlier today.
7) My computer has some wireless do-hiccy that lets my brother have access to the internet at the same time as me. *SUPPOSEDLY* does nto effect my bandwidth according to him.
8) He had to replace the do-hiccy(umm i think its called a cable router or something), because it would not let his laptop play FFXI, but it would let him connect to IE.
9)When he was removing the old one, my computer froze, but worked a bit after i rebooted. Then he put in the new one tryed to connect to the internet on mine and what happend in #1-3 began.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Actually i have had this problem.Come to find out something on another computer in my network was causeing the lock ups. Go to network places and unmap all of the network computers and reboot if that does not work then begin unattaching each usb item one at a time rebooting your system each time. That was how the tech told me to find the problem. It worked for me.
good luck.

Thx for the advice, but actually my bro found out that it was a hardware problem. The NIC card was loose in the PCI slot, causing a shortage that froze the computer. Then a capacitor fell off the size of a pinhead and he had to sauder it back on. After that happened we placed it back in and it worked fine. Thx for the help though.

He soldered the capacitor back on and it works?? Seriously, if any piece of a NIC card falls off, it's a pretty good sign that you might want to get a replacement.

Aye I totally agree. But problem is am heading off to college in one year and its almost a family tradition to get a laptop as a graduation gift for college. So I highly doubt I'll be getting a desktop PC if I will be getting a laptop a year later, so I gotta live with it. Problem is, think the Dell warranty is null&void now so if it breaks again, I am screwed.

I think what Vitaee is trying to say is:
If the problem happens you can disable the "on board" connection in your settings, and buy a separate nic card. Then use it instead. They are cheap.
