Default SMALL COMPASS mod

First download the following two files, and install them into your current UI directory (overwrite files):
http://members.cox.net/jcs0001/EQUI_CompassWnd.xml
http://members.cox.net/jcs0001/window_pieces04.tga

Second open your EQUI_Animations.xml file that is in your current UI directory and,
REPLACE THE FOLLOWING CODE:
Code:
<!-- Compass art --> <Ui2DAnimation item = "A_CompassStrip"> <Frames> <Texture>window_pieces04.tga</Texture> <Location> <X>0</X> <Y>0</Y> </Location> <Size> <CX>180</CX> <CY>24</CY> </Size> </Frames> </Ui2DAnimation> <Ui2DAnimation item = "A_CompassOverlay"> <Frames> <Texture>window_pieces04.tga</Texture> <Location> <X>0</X> <Y>24</Y> </Location> <Size> <CX>98</CX> <CY>24</CY> </Size> </Frames> </Ui2DAnimation>

With this modified code:
Code:
<!-- Compass art --> <Ui2DAnimation item = "A_CompassStrip"> <Frames> <Texture>window_pieces04.tga</Texture> <Location> <X>0</X> <Y>0</Y> </Location> <Size> <CX>180</CX> <CY>24</CY> </Size> </Frames> </Ui2DAnimation> <Ui2DAnimation item = "A_CompassOverlay"> <Frames> <Texture>window_pieces04.tga</Texture> <Location> <X>0</X> <Y>24</Y> </Location> <Size> <CX>35</CX> <CY>24</CY> </Size> </Frames> </Ui2DAnimation>

sorry if this isnt all neat and tidy, but my current UI is a hodgepodge of miscellaneous and custom UI mods.

following my instructions here will ensure that this mod works will ALL mods.

I am eager to hear input on this, cause i personally thought the new compass was just too big.

Default small!

if that thing near the begining of ur post is the compass you might as well make it 1 pixel by 1 pixle to get ride of it, somethings need to be larger. . .

yes, that is the picture of it.

the compas is large enough to have both a single-letter and bouble letter direction designation, and that is all i wanted.

i do not need to see SW S SE E NE N NW W just to tell what direction im going, and the UI they provided was way way WAY too big.

thank you for yout input though

PLEASE include your animations changes WITHIN the compass XML... not the animations xml...

the mods will work this way????

SWEET!!!

i did not know that i could enter in animation data into the individual XML files, this info will let me modify ALL my existing mods into code that will be retroactively compatible with nearly all future changes!

thanks!

changes inc...

Neat, at least its a good option for those that like the NE, SE, SW etc. indicators.
