Default Bookwindow???

Any one know what the hell the bookwindow is for? As near as I can tell its not used. I even tried loading the default UI to see if my UI was missing something and cant get it to pop up there.

When opened in SidlWidl, it looks kind of like a cross between the Default_Old spell book and the new Default spell book, and it has the new scribe buttons there, but ingame, I dont see it anywhere.

This is only out of curiosity, the may 16 patch had no affect on my UI that I can see.

Default Bookwindow

My understanding from previous threads is that part of the 4 bookwindow parts is for the spell book and part are for other books you may open throughout the game..why it isnt showing ingame im not sure but i added the new parts to my ui and stopped the xml messages

ahhh, I can see it being used for other books ingame. Though I am not sure I have ever opened anything that didnt use a scroll graphic.

When opened in SidlWidl, under default, it has a completely different graphic than the spell book, so I dont see it being used as an adjunct to the spell book.

I wonder if Sony just messed up and stuck the buttons in the wrong book.

BookWindow.xml is for when you right click on a book or note (tradeskill books for example).

Ok heres my thoughts, if the book window is for the books in game (tradeskills) Maybe they are going to make spell scrolls readable as a book item, then also make them castable from that window or scribeable.... Like in Bauldersgate, you can right click on a spell and scribe it, or cast it from the scroll, I wonder if they are going to do that? It would make it so casters dont have to keep the spell up, they could cast this from inventory by reading the scroll.... Possibilitys at least.

Well here is what the silly thing looks like in SidlWidl, and considering that the code is simple button goes here and button goes there stuff, This should be correct unless its got even more lovely hardcoding in it. Not to mention the text is clearly meant for the spell book and not a tradeskill book.

It looks to me like they just goofed up the UI again, would not be the first time.
