if i have formatted my hdd will this virus still be in effect? coz i cant remember if i opened the file or not so i formatted and changed my pwords just wondering if the virus would be in effecdt. im on a network would it transfer to one computer when i formatted then go back on mine afterwards? nav detects nothing though

Pritty sure your safe if you formatted. I dont think it hides in the mbr or anything.

hihi hacker....
this dude had the gall to email back to me my pass and stuff after i had my account voluntarily banned. he posed as one of my friends friend i traced the orginateing ip addy and then logged into my account, checked the billing info and this guy popped up on it as last credit card used to reactivate my account shortly before i had it banned. i have given this info, the email he sent, my account billing info to the FBI and thier cyber divisions plus reported him to his ISP. i hope he goes to prision for a very long time where the inmates can violate him on a daily basis.

How can you tell if you have a virus like this?
When I type in my password it will start entering in more letters than I want to type (ie if I type an "r" it will insert 2 or 3 R's automatically) it also seems to freeze up for a fraction of a second like it is lagging. It just started today and I'm not sure what to do about it. This does not happen when I type anywhere else, so it can't be my keyboard. I have been messing around with GUIs lately, but I have not seen or run any executable files in the process. I don't know what to make of it. Is this the virus?

Dont think so Purry...No virus i have heard of would make that happen . Most virus's are rather Destructive to a PC.
But it may not be a bad idea for you to scan your computer for viruses.

My account was perminently banned because of this, and verant doesnt seem to want to listen or care. Does anyone have any suggestions about ways to get them to listen or prove that someone hacked my account using this virus? they even popped up some kind of dos prompt window and taunted me about it afterwards. i prompty formatted after that confirming my suspesions of a virus but also erasing any evidence i had
