So i'm looking for a way to make an action button type thing that will take user input. i.e.; if you have something that you regularly say to different people, hit the action button and have it prompt for who to send the /tell to. Any suggestions?

Action buttons that take user input are macros (socials). Its just as easy to do /t but if you want to, you can make a macro button to /t for you.

a common macro for buffing is something like this

soandso sends you a tell, 'c7 please!'

simple macro:




so /rt replies and targets who sent you your last tell
pause makes sure theres no lag before ya cast it
two cast lines incase of fizzles

simple but effective

I think what the OP is looking for is a window that pops up when you hit a certain key. Like say he hits his hotkey that says Haste incomming! or whatever, then that hotkey puts up a name promt for who he wants the tell sent to.

EQ can't do that :/

BUT if you follow what Getti Lee said its a way to get the same thing done (same end results)
