Haven UI is heavily based on the Quartz UI. The key differences that Haven carries are:

- Frequent updates to keep pace with Verant\'s UI changes
- A built-in graphical config utility
- Smart updates (part of the config utility)
- Ability to toggle the Help icon (especially useful for some plugins such as Timer) and pet information
- Ability to toggle buff names and character class configurations graphically
- A revised buff window
- A stable pre-built INI
- Executable installation (and patching in the future)
- Start Menu shortcut for the config utility and readme
- Revised (easier to read) server list (part of the config utility)
- 100% lit compass by default


New in v1.1:

- A revised installer that should work for everyone.
- Ability to toggle pet info.
- Config Utility v1.2 that works with the new installation format.

I can't seem to find the bar to bring up options, friends, etc. In the default it is at the top in the middle. On this skin, where is it?

In this UI the Selector window is usurped by the lower/inner right inventory window. To get option items please use your hotkeys.

Ctrl+f = friends

I don't see why not. Install it and then move your mods over into the uifiles\haven directory. It should work If it doesn't please let me know.

Hey man,

Downloaded the file, ran the installer, followed the prompts, and nothing happened. Moved the file to the folder I have EQ installed in, repeated, still nothing happened. Do you have it hardcoded to only install to C:/program files/everquest? Cause my path is different...

There was no folder created, no UI file, etc....

Any ideas?

Hmm.. that's very odd. No, it's not hardcoded - it gets your EQ dir from the registry.


Did you get a couple popups that asked you questions about the config and told you it was installed successfully?

Aye, I have the same problem with nothing happenin' sides it makin' a new UI-Vixyn file... I got the pop-ups, got the prompts, did 'em all... nada

Ok... at least only 2 people seem to have this problem. That's not bad out of over 300 downloads

Here's a fix for you two to start with:

1. Open the HavenUI.zip file and drag'n'drop Haven.exe to your desktop.
2. Right-click Haven.exe and select "Extract here"
3. Cut'n'paste the "haven" folder from your desktop to Everquest\uifiles.
4. Browse into Everquest\uifiles\haven\data and right-click on "hconfig.vbe", and "Send to\ Desktop (create shortcut)" (hconfig.vbe is the config utility)

That's all you need to do, and hopefully the config utility will work for you althohgh I'm concerned that if the installer didn't the config utility won't either. :\

To help me figure out what went wrong for you two please PM or email me with the following info:

1. If you know how to use regedit please browse to the key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\App Paths\Everquest.exe\" and tell me what's in the "Path" value. (should be something like C:\Program Files\Everquest)

2. What the name of your "uifiles" folder is, as in is it "uifiles" or "Uifiles" or "UIFiles", etc.

3. What operating system you use including any service packs and what version of Internet Explorer you have.

4. Who your ISP is and whether or not you used a download manager/accelerator to get Haven UI.

I'll double-check all of these answers tonight, but from memory:

1. d:/sony/everquest trilogy/

2. uifiles

3. Windows ME IE 5.0

4. Optidynamic (small dial up in my area) and no download managers/accelerators.

Like I said, I'll double check them tonight when I get home from work, as well as try what you said and see if that works.

When I try running the .exe file my Norton virus scanner stops it due to what it calls a "malicious script".

That may happen. The reason it picks it up as malicious is because it manipulates files on your machine, and it's written in VBScript.

I assure one and all that it's not malicious, and most anti-virus programs that are up-to-date won't think it's malicious.

Just click cancel to the warning and let it run.
