Default Graphical Distortion?

OK i'm slowly going mad here, trying a few different mods spellbook, icons, windows.. and i keep encountering this same problem, the graphics seem to get corrupted/distorted when used in EQ. There's nothing that i can see wrong with the files and most of the spellbook icons are just cut/paste on top of the old ones..

this is a cutout of my spellbook

Someone, anyone? Before i go completely insane..

Read the tutorial here (in info vault) on how to make graphics.

Have read the info vault post, but that didn't help, all images follow the 2 rule and should work perfectly fine.

/sigh.
I'd take any suggestion right about now..

I don't see what corruption you're speaking of..

Default Do what I do.

If you are experiencing graphical difficulties, do what I do. Instead of creating totally new images, make copies of and edit the originals from VI/SOE.

Sorry, but that screenshot doesn't do anything to show the graphical distortion you're talking about. You need to post a side-by-side comparison of the way it looks in the .tga compared to a screenshot taken from the game.

I've change the image to better represent what i'm talking about, should be much clearer with the left side being what the graphic looks like in EQ, and the right side an enlarged image of the actual image from the TGA files. I'm also doing what Kizzestra suggested and editing the Verant graphics themselves instead of going from scratch.

(yes the spellbook icons are from Warcraft 3 )

Ok, now I see what you're talking about. There was another thread about this earlier.

Apparently EQ does something to the textures when it loads them from the tga file. It appears to be dithering the colors, or perhaps compressing the image to save memory. I don't believe you can do anything about it.
