You check Display inside Options to make sure it's selected on? And did you try /indicator on?

For a target ring you need the following:
TargetIndicator.tga (or whatever .tga is specified in the .ini)
TargetIndicator.ini

If the .ini says:
Texture=wierdness
Then you need:
wierdness.tga not
TargetIndicator.tga

If you are in game after putting this in your folder type /indicator off followed by /indicator on.

If you are not in the game when you put these in your folder then when you start the game it should work.

In your EQClient.ini make sure u have the following:

[Defaults]
UseTNL=TRUE

[Options]
Show3dTargetIndicator=1

Its possible your video card is not supported by SOE. Since I dont know what video card you have I cant say for sure.

Ahh I've been following this thread and was about to rip out my hair before you posted, this answers my question...

"1) Target Indicator is not going to work with these Video Cards: (All Unsupported with EQ)

A) ATI Rage Pro
B) Intel Onboard (828**)
C) Rage Mobility (Laptop)
D) TnT2"

Wonder why intel onboard isnt supported especially considering how common they are. Target indicator works great on my second computer with an ancient geforce /sigh
