Default Item icons not displaying

Hello, I've been having an issue with Drakah's WoW UI ever since the patch on 4/17. I've tried deleting all of the UI files and installing the patched version, but none of my item icons show up, so I can't see any of my gear or items in my bags other than a few select ones (about 5% of my items). If I go into options and load the default UI, everything is fine and I can see them. I've spent a while looking through the help forum with no luck, any help would be appreciated!

I'm guessing it's the change that was made to the dragitemXXX files.

You need to check the Animations xml file.
It should be referencing dragitemXXX.dds (not .tga)
I think there are now 178 files.

If Drakah's WoW UI uses any custom icon files they are probably still in .tga format, so those files should remain unchanged in the animations file. All others should be .dds so it picks them up correctly from the default ui.

Edit:

Just had quick look at Drakah's UI and it is already referencing the .dds files.
So not sure why you are not seeing any icons.

Best way to ensure it works is to do a new install of the UI 1st, then if you are modding the UI, do so 1 by 1 so you know which file is the problem.

Keep an eye on the UIErrors.txt file in your root directory to find any "Error" messages. "Warning" messages are normal, so pretend they aren't there.

I am also keeping an eye on a occuring error about ItemDisplayWindow, which there isn't a window called that. It may be a future SOE update in the future.

Pretty sure that's EQUI_ItemDisplay

Within the file it refers to itself as IDW, item display window

I am seeing it too:

UIErrors.txt
[Sun Apr 28 20:23:22 2013] Error: Could not find child IDW_ClassTitle1 in window ItemDisplayWindow
[Sun Apr 28 20:23:22 2013] Error: Could not find child IDW_ClassTitle2 in window ItemDisplayWindow
[Sun Apr 28 20:23:22 2013] Error: Could not find child IDW_RaceTitle2 in window ItemDisplayWindow
[Sun Apr 28 20:23:22 2013] Error: Could not find child IDW_RaceTitle2 in window ItemDisplayWindow
[Sun Apr 28 20:23:22 2013] Error: Could not find child IDW_DeityTitle in window ItemDisplayWindow
[Sun Apr 28 20:23:22 2013] Error: Could not find child IDW_ItemInfo11 in window ItemDisplayWindow
[Sun Apr 28 20:23:22 2013] Error: Could not find child IDW_ItemInfo12 in window ItemDisplayWindow

They are not breaking the UI or causing the "Your XML files are not compatible" error in-game however.

This must be for something not yet released.

Those errors have been in the default UI since the new item window was rolled out 5ish (?) years ago.

I have got rid of them by taking out a fresh item display file from default and changing my titlebar and loading it but when I log back off and or load the UI again they are back.

The issue is the errors exist *in* the default item window. Moving a fresh file is simply going to transfer the errors along with the .xml from one UI folder to another.

Every dragitem in my EQUI_Animations.xml has been changed to .dds yet I'm still getting the pearls for all the item changes today. What else do I need to change to get the new icons?
