Default eq config files -- what do they do?

I was thinking of compiling a list of all the eq files and what information is contained in them, but then I thought, someone *must* have done this already.

So, if anyone has seen anything like this, I'd love to get a link.

If not ...

I know there's eqclient.ini, UI_charname_servernum.ini, there's a charname_servernum.ini, there's a charname_servernum.opt, EQOptions2.opt and EQOptions1.opt (are any of the opts still used at all?).

Does anyone have any information on this stuff? Is there a useful rule of thumb to follow? Is some of the stuff only used for the old ui, or only for the new?

Thanks for the link. It's definitely informative, but it doesn't list the specific files I'm wondering about ... the general config stuff.

Well, as far as Eqclient.ini is concerned, the window position settings for various resolutions do not apply to the new UI, so if you switch back, you'll still have your old settings.

All the window size and position settings for the new UI are saved in files (named UI_charname_server#.ini) that are unique for each character, allowing each one to have a completely different skin and window setup.
