When I click on the skin and try to load it while im in EQ...it freezes and crashes...then i cant load my char back up cause of the skin...help?

I made a new folder in my uifiles folder inside the everquest folder and unzipped the mod there. I tried to load it up inside EQ while I was playing and it froze and crashed

Well, according to your error log it is finding the custom files (I can tell that by the files that aren't listed in the log), soooo ... it would seem that one (or more) of the custom files aren't current. Unfortunately, you seem to be experiencing the problem that everyone was having a while back, in that the game isn't reporting what the errors are by writing them to your error log, instead it is just crashing you out. Can you post a list of the file names that are included in the UI? What we are probably going to have to do is go through each file one at a time and make sure that they are all current. =/

Ok, got Cair's message

From the look of your UIERRORS log, taking for granted that was everything it stated, it is loading correctly.

The files it could not find are correct. Those files were not altered. Thus, being loaded from the Default folder.

The files that WERE altered, were not listed in your UIERRORS list, thus it looks like it was loaded successfully.



Ensure you have this setup:

EverQuest--->uifiles--->wow

Ensure you have NO folder WITHIN the wow folder.


You state that you "crash" when loading the skin within EverQuest. This is due to a graphic/code parsing problem that could be a result of your video card not being able to handle 32 bit texturing on the fly. I would suggest not to load the skin within EverQuest, have it load before you enter EverQuest via the UI INI file.

Included in the ZIP file, you were given an INI file that you could use for your character. Since that INI file will look for the "wow" folder, you are pretty much set there already.

Use the INI file in place of your character's INI file.. just remove your current UI_ZeroX_whateversever.ini file and rename mine back to your own name and server number again.

Afterwards, then load up EverQuest.

Remember, the INI file was created primarily for the 1280 x 1024 resolution.



Other tips:

~ Make sure you have upgraded any new drivers that is out there for your video card and upgrade to DX9 if you have not already.

~ Some people have fixed their problems by removing the entire "uifiles" folder, and have EverQuest redownload all the files therein. Then just "reinstall" the interface of your choice, reading explicitly the directions given for the interface. (hense most people do not read the README files, why I dunno). Be sure to also remove any files that start with "UI_" in your EverQuest main directory as well.

~ Do a Full Scan to make sure all your files are up to date.
