Zendakin A Fire Beetle Join Date: Oct 2002 Posts: 2	I suck Ever since 10-21 I can not use any new or customized skins. I have tried blowing out the entire uifiles folder including all skins that I have. I have updated all the skins that I have but still no dice. I really want to get the purple vert mod going with a vertical spell bar but can't seem to get it to work on my system. Am I just missing something or are all custom UI's hosed? I have seen screens of others using these mods but can't get it working myself. Please help! -Z

Chronwaas Skinner Extraordinaire Join Date: Jul 2002 Server: Saryrn Posts: 421	If you could post the contents of or include your UIerrors.txt file here it would help a great deal in finding the problem. The best thing to do would be to load up the skin you want in to a directory and try it again so that the uierrors.txt file is freash. ditrying A Gray Wolf Join Date: Oct 2002 Posts: 4	almost emberassed to ask How do I do a text edit. I go in through the notepad to edit text, but I get an error when I go into read it by vewing just the desktop. Am I doing the editing wrong?

So like here is the UIErrors log. I didn't even know that this log existed.

I hope you can make more sense out of it then I can. This is a log from my skin that I made when using the UI Maker linked to this site. I'll clean the log (rename it) and try again with a premade log but the results will be the same.

Those are your actual problems. (You can ignore all the "Warning, blah blah blah not found in directory blah blah, attempting to load from default". They just mean that EQ will grab them from the default directory, as is right.)

What it is telling you is that:
a) in the file EQUI_Templates.xml there is one reference to the "lines.tga" file but not the second necessary reference; and
b) in the file EQUI_SpellBookWnd.xml, same problem, there is one reference to "A_SpellLeftBtnPressedFlyby", "A_SpellRightBtnPressedFlyby", "A_SpellGaugeFill" and "A_SpellGaugeFill", but not the corresponding second reference.

You need to a) make sure that those files haven't become corrupted in your download, b) get in touch with the person that made the mod and see if they have made changes/corrections, or if they can/will ....
