Well, what part of our UI do we download it to? The vert file, the default file, or just anywhere in the uifiles section?

I've tried both zip files posted here without luck. Unzipped them to vert folder under uifiles and the only part I can get working is the character selection screen.

As soon as I enter the game it's reverted to default. Tried using /loadskin and /loadskin vert too... The uierrors file generates a ton of errors seen below:

Seems it's a path issue to me, but I haven't changed anything except add the files provided here today. I backed up my vert folder first, so I can copy the files back.

Any ideas guys?

I downloaded the "Fixes" into my vert file...no luck....to my main file....no luck...


While online, I shouted and talked to some folks in-game. Many are trying the "Fixes" posted here, but it is not working.

However, there are folks that are saying that vert 2.2 was not affected at all by the new patch.

I wonder why just SOME of us are being slammed by this patch...and why only some of us cannot get the fixes to work.

Someone needs to make ONE post here that contains:

1. Exactly what changes need to be made.

2. How to make those changes.

I see about 8 posts on this thread that just have scripts and do not distinguish whether those are the scripts CHANGED by the patch, or whether those need to be CHANGED to what we see on the posts.

There are TWO download fixes.

So please, have mercy on us simple-minded people and someone please make a post with the exact changes that need to take place.

Instead of having a dozen changes scattered throughout the thread.

1. What is the name of the mod, provide a link to where its located on our site. If its your own home made dont worry about it.

2. What steps did you take to install the mod?

**************The mod was working fine until the patch, not it reverts back to the default UI. I re-installed the newer version exactly as instructed and the same thing happens.


3. Go to your everquest folder and find the uierrors.txt file and copy and paste the errors here if there are any errors.

4. Be as descriptive as you can. Just posting you cant get xyz mod to work will result in no responce to your help request. The more information you can provide the faster some one will respond.

*************AS I said, the UI will not load. It just reverts back to the default UI whether I use /load vert or whether I copy and paste directly to the directory.

I had the same thing happen as another poster above...

Loaded the DL'd "fix" and it only seems to have fixed my character select screen

I'm using Vert Dozen Roses Mod (V 2.1). Went to Vert's site, to try to DL v2.2, but it appears that his DL site no longer works.

Can anyone throw up the most current version of Vert? (Preferrably one that is working with today's patch, because xml > me )

I have applied the fix for Vert Crystal Meth 2.2 and it is working fine. Yahoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What I did was copied all the defaults into a new folder and then over wrote them with ORIGINAL vert files then overwrote with the FIX files. This is probably the long way around, but it's working so I'm not gonna question it


Thanks to all who spent the time to fix this UI issue so quickly, I for one greatly appreciate it!!

Just downloaded and unzipped the original patch listed on the first page and it fixed it when I went back into game...

It is working for some.

AGAIN, there is NO NEED to copy your default UI folder into a new folder... VI set it up so any missing files would auto pull from the default directory..

all this does is cause problems when they patch a file that is not changed in your folder that the author has no idea your using

for example
Vert 2.2 doesnt modify the "gemsgame.xml" file and if you have that in your VERT folder and then they decided to patch it.. your mod will not work.. and you will be posting "my mod wont work... how come" and the author will have no idea why.. cuz he never modified "gemsgame.xml"... soo he will keep posting back "It should be working, working for me"

double check and make sure there is not a sub folder inside your new mod folder...

IE:

it should be

Everquest\uifiles\new mod\(all the xml files and tga's)

if you look i bet you find

Everquest\uifiles\new mod\new mod\(all the Files)

I have seen this a dozen times when people unzip a file directly into their UIFILES directory... the zip program makes a sub-folder with the exact same name.

Will these C&P fixed work with ZWv3.0? Or does anyone know a possible fix for this mod?

When I checked I didnt even have EQUI.xml in my ZW3.0 mod DIR.

Sorry to disappoint you but it's pretty much just uifiles\vert

This is not a new install Kudane, it's what I've been using since Vert released it. I'm fully aware of what the "zip program" does and the fact that the UI here in question, vert's, is compressed in a "vert" folder within the zip-file.
