wow I found my very first mod... well at least a screenshot of it.. post your thoughts on this
*the version number does say 6.00.00
that was under the old system
the new version system would translate that into 0.00.060

That screenshot isn't that old. You have a hitsmode window. I need to get my 200 pics from 1999 off my old comp and find some good ones.

Hrm, I'd say a couple months before I think. So yeah. That was a golden era for EQ: I had just built a brand-spankin' new computer with a GeForce3 and 512 MB of RAM and EQ ran like a god. Then like a month later they released Luclin and I was sent back to 30s for framerates.

How would you get Aradune even on test, since that name was (espeically back then) taken on all the servers by a GM (or UBER GM as it were)
and i had very similar specs for my first EQ Machine.

Aradune was Brad Mcquaids name. Just incase no one remembers his he is pretty much the guy responsible for EverQuest.
I wouldn't call him an UberGM since he never really did any GMing. He just wondered around from time to time and showed off his pretty cool sword.
Unless there was a serious error on Verant/SOEs part you did not have that name, Period. They removed all the teams character names off all servers.

There was a trick you could do by editing active memory to give yourself any name you wanted actually... So for a period of time you COULD have had the name Aradune (as many people at once as knew the memory hack could have). Basically, you made a level one, at the char select screen you edited your active memory to change the name then delete the character and it would remove that name from the server's used name list. Then remake a real character with that name and you could play, but if two people with the same name tried to log in, the second person just couldn't (so you could block uber people on your server from logging in). I never did this of course (really, I didn't).
