Highlights
  • Stored AA points greater than 3 times your level will now be removed after logging out. The earned-limit remains 2 times your level. See the AA section below for details.
UI
  • Fixed a crash related to the Find Item Window and custom UIs.
  • Added a new message to the server select screen that indicates when the server is too busy to process your login request.
  • Fixed a crash related to the /pick window and custom UIs.
  • Updated the spell information window so that it shows more consistent information when you inspect buffs or debuffs.
  • Added the ability for spell descriptions to display links to other spells.
  • Clicking on a spell icon from the spell description will generate a new link in your chat window. Press enter to share the spell in a clickable link.
  • You can also right-click on any of your buffs and choose the option 'Link spell to chat' to generate a spell link.
  • Corrected an issue where the advanced loot window sometimes wouldn't list group members in the Give to: and Set all to: fields.
  • Corrected an issue where loot filters in the loot filters window could have duplicate item entries.

Default  September 2017 Producer's Letter: It's Expansion Season

Greetings Norrathians,

It’s that time of year and it’ll come as no surprise that we’re ready to talk expansion! Even in the midst of launching Agnarr, managing our existing progression and live server updates, working on new features such as the in-game event calendar, making overall improvements to the UI, and improvements to game stability and performance, the team has also been furiously working away on this year’s expansion!

We’re still heads down in development, but we are excited to announce our 24th expansion, EverQuest: Ring of Scale! We return to Kunark to finish what started in last year’s EverQuest: Empires of Kunark as the Combine faces their final challenge. You’ll revisit some familiar places and then explore new areas like Gorowyn. You’ll face new monsters, acquire new gear, spells, and AAs, and more!

If you’re hankering for more details, then be on the lookout for more announcements in October! We’ll be sharing expansion details, and in mid-October you’ll be able to pre-order and come play with us in beta. EverQuest: Ring of Scale is going to be one exciting adventure and this expansion is currently scheduled for launch this December.

Let’s not forget about our progression servers! Agnarr will unlock The Scars of Velious on November 8th! Later this year in December, Phinigel will unlock Dragons of Norrath and Ragefire and Lockjaw will vote to unlock Gates of Discord too.

While we’re all excitedly waiting for EverQuest: Ring of Scale, there are a host of promotions for us to enjoy while we count down the days!
  • Starting today, EverQuest: Empires of Kunark will be on sale at 50% off through October 15, 2017 at 11:59PM PDT! Don’t forget that the option to purchase the Collector’s or Premium Edition of EverQuest: Empires of Kunark won’t be available after pre-orders for EverQuest: Ring of Scale begin in October!
  • All Access Members who log in to EverQuest between TODAY and October 15, 2017 at 11:59PM PDT will be rewarded with the Skull of the Slain Sarnak illusion! This boney get-up would make a great costume for Nights of the Dead.
  • Fall in-game bonuses are returning on November 1st and will bring you bi-weekly bonuses including increased bonus experience, rare spawns, faction bonuses, and shorter lockout timers!
There is so much coming up and the team can’t wait to share what they’ve been working on, so be sure to keep checking back for even more expansion news and announcements! It continues to be an amazing journey for EverQuest and it’s all thanks to you, our players!

UI
  • Added the Find Item Window which allows you to search your inventory:
  • The window can be toggled with /finditem as well as through buttons found in the inventory window, bank window, and EQ menu.
  • You can search for specific item names with /finditem Itemname.
  • The window allows you to search for any item or augment in your immediate possession, bank, shared bank, mercenary slot, key ring, or in a real estate that you own.
  • The window allows you to directly grab items from your inventory (hold left-click) or offers the ability to highlight the location/bag where the item is located (right-click).
  • Fixed the display of drop down lists in multiple UI windows so the text in the list will no longer be cut off.
  • Added a new chat filter to show/hide 'begin casting' messages for proc spells. By default these messages will now be hidden.
  • The achievement category icons for recent expansions are now a bit brighter.
  • The /pickzone window now displays the number of group members in each instance of your current zone.
  • Addressed an issue that caused some events to not properly appear in the calendar.
  • Added the ability to export data, one month at a time, from the in-game calendar to an iCal format file which can then be imported to most calendars, including Google and Outlook.
  • Removed the veteran reward reminder when logging in on servers that do not allow veteran rewards to be claimed.
  • Added PrependText and AppendText fields to the label UI type:
  • This will allow for UI modders to define the prepend text and / or the append text to a label with the dynamic text controlled by the game team.
  • This is currently demonstrated with the parcel tab in the merchant window.
  • Leading and trailing whitespace in UI text fields will now be correctly displayed.
  • Added a chat message and corresponding chat filter for when items are destroyed.

  • The Target's Target, Extended Target, and Window Selector UI elements are now disabled in the solo Tutorial.
  • Achievements previously located in the EverQuest->Special and EverQuest->Collection categories have been moved to a new Events category.
  • The achievement category for Quarm has been removed from the achievements window.
  • Limited the maximum number of items that can be purchased in a single merchant window transaction to 100 (if the item being purchased has a stack size greater than 100).

  • Added an event calendar that displays all of the event alerts for the year:
  • The event calendar can be accessed via the command /calendar or via the EQ Button in the Alerts sub-menu.
  • The event calendar lists all active events with beginning and end dates.
  • The event calendar displays your localized start and end time for each event.
  • You can now toggle the potion belt UI on and off using the EQ menu.
  • Added the following commands to the menu that is displayed when left clicking a player's name in the chat window: Send tell, invite to group, invite to raid, task add, and add to dynamic zone.
  • Setting a custom chat timestamp color will now automatically cause timestamps in that chat window to display in that color, rather than also requiring you to disable the 'Match Chat Color' setting.
  • Made a number of adjustments to heroic stat labels in the item display window:
  • Corrected a bug that prevented items that have negative heroic stats from displaying these stats.
  • Heroic stats increased or decreased by power sources will now display their value in green/red the same way that base stats do.
  • Adjusted the spacing of base stat and heroic stat labels to better support items with 3 digit heroic stat values.
  • Fixed an issue where newly created characters weren't properly loading their default Hot Buttons.
