Mark assist rings all six!

Description
Elanthian Ring of Power Animated 3D Target Indicator

By Dastinar Elanthian of Druzzil Ro

(edited by Fremder McLargeHuge of Drinal.)

EDIT: 06/Jan/2011 I updated the Free target ring, used for paladin splash, shammy glyphdust etc. type spells. It is now emulating the Free Target Bulls Eye Ring made by Knobb. He had a good idea, I just incorporated it into the design of this moving ring. Yes the free ring now moves just like the rest of the rings. The free invalid ring does not move because it's only there when you're targeting an invalid area for a spell to land. Any feedback is welcome, leave me comments, rate and enjoy!

EDIT: 27/Dec/2010 I Updated the file to work with HoT, even though there was really no problems with compatibility, there was a missing texture file in the yellow ring. My fault completely, sorry if you also had the issue. I was on a bad internet connection for a long time but I've moved and uploading is once again possible. This file should be 100% working and proper. I also unzipped the extra indicator rings into the whole of the file. I'm not sure how to use all six indicator rings for mark assist. But they are there for possible future expansion when/if they add usability of all six.

EDIT: 28/Feb/2010 I created a rune-less version of the rings and a newly designed free/freeinvalid rings. if you see above the addons/patch section it's posted there. This new ring will help you to create a version with your guild name or just enjoy the simplicity of the rune-less ring. It also has the new free/free invalid textures I created with it. tell me what you think!

PS if you want to make the outer colored rings bigger on either set, change the TextureScale value in the targetindicator.ini file to .50 for each con, and you should have plenty of writing room for a guild name or just a bigger glow if you like that sort of thing. But with the runes removed on that version, you can write anything you want anywhere on the ring!

Enjoy!

The Target Indicator has three animated parts.

The inner ring with the four arrows spins clockwise.
The middle ring has four sliders that spin counter clockwise.
The runes on top of the tribal pattern spin clockwise.

The con colors each have an eight frame animation.
The assist marker and the four markers have a static frame.

The background color and the glow on the runes change for each con color but the rest
of the indicator remains gold.

The glow of the indicator has changed from the original version.

The band that the middle ring spins around no longer glows with the con color.
Now that band only glows orange when the assist marker is used.

The assist marker has two gold bands with an orange bar between them in addition to
the tribal pattern.
The four markers have two gold bands with a pastel colored bar between them.

Release notes; I have edited the great Elanthian ring of power because I loved it so much and it was never updated. I used Gnutella Image manipulation Program (GIMP, open source photoshop like software) to edit the rings a little to include a trivial con ring.(Which is now PINK instead of grey.) I can't see grey very well with advanced lighting on.. The old rings wouldn't work anymore because of the recent targeting system changes for cons.

The new rings include the Red, Yellow, White, Blue, Light Blue, Green and now Pink rings instead of Grey.

Original credit goes to Dastinar Elanthian of Druzzil ro! Sorry I don't know anything about programming so I couldn't keep his install program in there, but it's not hard to unzip something yourself...

Hope you enjoy..

Are you still having problems with the default_old? I have never used default old and nothing has changed about the ring files since last expansion so it should work if it was before. I'm sorry I can't really offer any help other than trying to download and run the default old myself to see if there's an issue.

Then in game type /load "youruifoldername" mine is called custom so its /load custom, there is also a button in the options window for loading of custom UI's which will allow you to select weather you want to keep your layout while also loading your UI pieces. Let me know if you have any further issues.

Free and Free invalid Rings

I think the rings you're talking about are special and don't con anything. I set them up to be just solid rings with no effect. I could try to work in a moving ring for the free/invalid rings. but It may take a bit.

target ring

I just downloaded and installed this ring set. The rings look really cool and seem to work well with the exception of the yellow con ring. That ring flashes to solid white and back at about a 1 second intervel. I hope that can be fixed as this is one of the best looking ring sets i have come across.

I will look into this, I thought I included all the required rings but I guess I missed the new mark rings. If I have time this week I'll add more. I had no idea of the issue because I don't use mark assist and it loads fine for me all the time for some reason. Maybe it's because I don't use the mark rings? so it never bugs out on me like you are describing. Well anyhow, I'll try to make it compliant and add those missing rings soon. `Frem

I reinstalled the original DEROP ring. Reloaded UI and did the indicator on and off thing. Everything was fine.

Then I got the cloudy yuck again.

So I downloaded the Valor target ring and compared the ini file. The DEROP one (original and updated ones both) are missing Mark 4-6. I copied those over to the DEROP one and assigned derop3 for the texture and so far everything is functional ~ so far

Re: Question

It is just getting worse and worse to the point I am almost looking for a new ring because I don't hardly get to see the graphics anymore. I think there just has to be something needing tweaking in the coding somewhere as I don't hear this being an issue with other rings

it works intermittantly. just keeps fade back to that cloudy look. I think something in need of updating perhaps but it rly is just getting more and more frequent Almost to the point of looking for a new target ring because I never get to see the actual graphics anymore
