Geddine's song window (mini)
|
|
Ready for Laurion's Song. Please notify me of any issues.
This is an updated version of Geddine's buff window and short duration buff window which I have used for a long time. It displays buff slot numbers and buff descriptions, and it's also easy to tell if it's a beneficial or detrimental spell effect. This version is much smaller than the original Geddine buff window.
It supports up to 49 buff slots. (The screenshot here shows only 25 because I have not updated the screenshot, but it now extends to 49.)
I took Geddine's buff windows and made them much smaller.
The song window is actually not much smaller than the one in Geddine's buff/song window (Small version), but the buff window is.
This is one part of my full UI. Find the entire UI here: https://www.eqinterface.com/downloa...nfo.php?id=5945
--------------------------------------------------------
Change log:
Version 13.2.1 - EQUI_BuffWindow - Put in missing <Pieces>BW_Buff42</Pieces> that I should have put in previous version.
Version 13.2 - EQUI_BuffWindow - Increased maximum buffs slots from 42 to 49, as game has done so.
Version 13.1 - Removed EQUI_Animations.xml, as it prevented the Spirit of the Lost item from working properly with the map and the default one shoud work fine with this UI.
Version 13.0 - Night of Shadows pre-release. EQUI_Animations.xml - Added Ui2DAnimations items A_NOS, A_NOSHover, A_NOSSelected.
Version 12.1 - EQUI_Animations.xml - Changed size of Achievement_Titlebar.tga, Achievement_TitleBorders.tga. Added Achievement_account_unlock_color.tga. Added A_Achievement_WindowTitleOpenAcctLeft, A_Achievement_WindowTitleOpenAcctMiddle, A_Achievement_WindowTitleOpenAcctRight. Added Achievement Account-wide Open Filigree Frame pieces.
See readme.txt file in zip for full Change Log.
---------------------------------------------------------
BuffWindow can hold up to 49 buffs.
BuffWindow and ShortDurationBuffWindow can now be re-sized. However, if you reduce the width too far it will not show the buffs or the buff timers.

worked fine temporarily
This window worked fine for me for all of 2 days, now all of a sudden it does not. Somehow, it has reacted with my spell bar window, causing the upper 3/4ths of the each spell gem to be covered by little grey boxes. It does whether I make a new UI folder JUST using this file and everything else default, or if I insert this into my custom UI mix. I really liked this set, but oh well.

I didn't create the EQUI_Animations.xml file or edit it. Someone else did and I borrowed it.
I use the "old default" UI with my windows, so I have the old spell gems icons.
So I don't have any problems with it.
If there is another EQUI_Animations.xml file that would work better and you can point me toward it, that would be great. Otherwise, I'm going to have to see if I can figure it out but I'm kind of busy and since it doesn't affect me...
Here is a link to what my screen looks like: Fanra's UI
Anyone interested in the entire UI can download it here: http://drop.io/fanrasui
Be advised that the Player window does not currently show the little icons if you are marked MA, MT or Puller. I'm hoping to add them soon.

Wider Version
This is an excellent Buff UI but I want a slightly wider version, maybe 30% to 50% wider to accomodate the longer spell names. How would I do that? Ive played around with the file and cannot get it to work at all.
Tks,
Ron

There are several versions of Geddine's buff windows at EQInterface. This is the mini version. Have you looked at the small and large versions? Are they not what you want?

no timers
I downloaded this piece to my folder and did a /loadskin and noticed that there are no timers visible on the right end of the buff icon ...... I am thinking this is because you left out the animations.xml file from this download.

I noticed the same thing. I downloaded the animations file from the author's web site and then the timers worked, but it screwed up the look of all my spell gems. I do like these mini windows so I'll probably play around with it some more. I'm out of time tonight.

anyone able to update this to include the timers yet? Really like this mod.
tried using the .ani file from the (Small) version. but no dice. This just does not seem to have the timers on it. Does not show the counter for poisons either.

I removed the animations.xml file because someone told me it was unneeded. I'll add it back in now.
Yes, it will give you the old spell gems look, I think. I hate the new spell gems and my animations.xml file will reflect that.

Thanks for adding in the animations, it fixed the window for 2 days or so. NOw, with the last patch, they changed the equi.animations file, and this is again borked. It causes my spellbar to lose 3/4ths of the window for some reason. I can see the very bottom edge of my spell bar keys, but the upper portion is greyed out in a funky image. I have tried using it with both default UI and custom, going from straight Default to adding in all my custom files 1 by 1, and it is indeed the animations file that messes things up.
any chance you could take a look at it again?
thanks much...

The animations file is the one I patched after the March 10, 2010 patch. As far as I know, there was one emergency patch after that which should not have changed anything with that or the UI.
The animations file is one that I got a long time ago from someone else to use to make my UI the Old Default one. Since then I have just fixed it so it worked with the patches since then. If you are not using the Old Default look, then it is likely to cause problems.
I'm sorry but I have no idea what is causing your problem. I'm really just tending to work on my full UI which is here: http://www.eqinterface.com/download...nfo.php?id=5945
This buff window is just here and updated as I can. But I don't use it with the current Default UI and I'm not going to spend the time to make sure it works with the current Default.
If someone can point out why it isn't working for you and suggest some fixes which don't interfere with the Old Default I use, I will fix it. Otherwise, it is not something I'm really going to work on.
Sorry.
EDIT: By the way, you can try the animations file from http://www.eqinterface.com/download...nfo.php?id=4073 and see if it works.

heya Cudya. thanks so much for updating this so quickly. You may remember me from a few months down (scroll down hehe). I know we are not supposed to look for help in this forum, but I was wondering if you have the time if you could take a look at the post in help forum: http://www.eqinterface.com/forums/s...ead.php?t=20724
This has been a longstanding problem for me, and was wondering if you might have any clue what I can do to fix it, besides stop using 1 or the other of the files hehe. Thanks again, and keep up the great work, Your buff window is by far my favorite.
