Yes, that's how it's always been.

You can't change files in the Default folder. They'll just get repatched.

Can use a full copy of the default folder to mess around with or you can just put single mods that are default-compatible in a separate folder and load that as your "Custom UI" in game.

The game will use the files you have in there and then make up the rest of the UI with the Default files.

I use a modified copy since I make changes to my UI quite often, but either way works fine.

You can do quite a bit working with a separate folder just for your custom files, but I prefer to have a full copy to work with so everything is there in one place. I find it easier to make small changes to tailor it to a certain character, class, race, etc. that way.

I know this is over a month later but I had a problem loading anything in my default folder, so what i did was made a new folder and copied everything from my default ui into it, Then I proceeded to enter the pieces I liked and replaced them in my new folder.

It worked fine when I did that, I think the eq patcher was over riding it when I tried to load it in the default file for some reason, so make a new folder (I just named it the toon I wanted to use) copy and paste everything from your default ui then custumize it as you see fit.

Oh the window was just what I was looking for, great job

peace

You have a conflict with another of your UI files, then. Check your UIErrors file.

All 3 of these Player Window mods are default compatible. I check them to make sure.

I make them that way, so they are easier for people to modify, if they like, to fit their needs.

For that reason, they are not necessarily universal. Many of the mods and complete UI's you can get here will be incompatible because of the way they are designed, but you may be able to incorporate it with some tweaking. It's not a failing of either this mod or the UI you may be using .. they just may not work together straight away .. and occasionally, not at all..

Hope that helps,
