1. Changes from 4.0:
  • Fixed a visual bug in the tracking window.
  • Moved the done button on the loot window to the bottom.
  • Changed the layout of the group window.
  • Changed the layout of the player window.
  • Modified the mercenary manage and info window.
  • Modified the voice chat windows.
  • Modified the con indicator.
  • Modified the bug report window.
  • Rounded the titlebars.
  • Optimized animations.
  • Added a clicky window.
  • Added a stat window.

2. Features:
  • All modified windows are mini!
  • The following windows size based on the valid information: spell gems, container, group, item display, player, and target.
  • Map has three tabs that changes the background color. There is dark, light, and transparent.
  • Many common windows are transparent with outlines for buttons.
  • The buff and short duration windows can be sized vertically to display as many or as few buffs as you want. They can also be sized horizontally to change the length of the buff name. The buff icon is moved to the side so it does not overlap the timer.
  • The bug report window can be sized to only display your current x, y, and z location.
  • Clicky and stat windows are optional stand alone windows that do not replace any piece of the default UI.
  • The clicky window can be sized to only display your container slots or you can make it bigger to display all your equipment as well.
  • Con indicator clearly displays the difference between con colors, including the difference between gray and white.

The following windows are added by this UI:

4. Known Bugs
  • The target window will not display the name of an out of zone target.

5. Notes on Clicky and Stats window
These windows use a very new feature in the EQ custom UI system that allows for windows to be added. One bug with this system is that once you close a window there is no way to reopen it and keep it open. If you right click on the border of either the clicky or the stats windows you can close them. Once you close them the only way to reopen them is to edit your UI_Character_Server.ini file. Near the bottom there should be a section that starts with the line [MUI4_ClickyWindow] or [MUI4_StatsWindow]. Under there look for the line Show=0 and change it to Show=1.

6. How to mix with other UIs
  • 1. Copy the EQUI.xml file from the MiniUI folder to your custom UI folder.
    • A. If you are want to mix pieces of MiniUI with pieces from another UI that includes a EQUI.xml file. Open the EQUI.xml file that is included in the UI you would like to mix with MiniUI. Copy all of the lines that start with <Include> except the line that says <Include>..\default\EQUI.xml</Include>. Paste those lines into the EQUI.xml file in your custom UI folder after the line <Include>MUI4_StatsWindow.xml</Include>. Basically you want to put all of the includes into your EQUI.xml file and make sure the default is at the bottom.
    • B. If you are want to mix pieces of MiniUI with pieces from another UI that does not include a EQUI.xml file, then you are done with this step.
  • 2. Copy the following files from the MiniUI folder into your custom UI folder.
    MUI4MapDark.dds
    MUI4MapLight.dds
    MUI4Scroll.dds
    MUI4WindBack.dds
    MUI4WindowPieces.dds
    MUI4WindowPiecesDXT1.dds
    window_pieces01.tga
    EQUI_TopLevelScreens.xml
    MUI4_Animations.xml
    MUI4_ClickyWindow.xml
    MUI4_StatsWindow.xml
  • 3. If you could like the con indicator also copy the following files:
    TargetIndicator.ini
    assist.tga
    concircle.tga
    mark.tga
  • 4. Copy any of the XML files that correspond to the windows that you would like from the MiniUI folder to your custom UI folder.

I finally found the UI of my dreams!

Except there are pieces that are broken, and it is two years out of date.

I use the 'Esc' key to clear my target as well as close open bags sometimes, it's just kind of a bad habit. This makes it so the stats window and mini equipment window get closed (and subsequently turned off because they are custom windows).

Is there anyway to make it so they don't close when I hit escape?

Pet window

This is a very nice set up, love it. just one problem im having, there is no function to move the pet window except to stretch it all over and finally get it where you want, and the buttons have no effect on my pet, i have to do manual hotbuttons or / commands.

Bags when open seem to open at the very edge of my screen and when moved else where they reopen at the edge of screen again. Other than that this has to be one of the best UIs. Thanks.

nice job

Nice job on the mini-inventory window (not the regular one). It is nice to be able to click on odd slots that the other UI's don't have in their's. This one has every slot so you can click on a slot to activate a focus item without having to open up the whole inventory window. PLUS.. you can access ANY bag TOO!!!...

Still sort of miss the outline of the hotkey windows, but I imagine I will get used to it. =)

BTW.. reading below in the next post about tradeskill containers, I just made arrows this morning and no problems... so maybe you need to update your UI, I believe he updated it since the first one right after last patch.

tradeskill container wont work

I love the UI, its clearly the best for the small screen I use. Only problem I have is I cannot get the tradeskill containers to work. They open, but I cannot push the combine button... nor does it tell me what items are needed in the recipe.

Currently this UI does not modify the inventory window. I'm planning on making some more big changes with SoD though. It will probably include an inventory mod. I will think about it and see if there is anyway I can add equipment slots in a clean way.

wow...

this is a very nice looking UI, i've been using quartz for years and i feel naked without it...but damn guy! very nice!

i'd probably use it if it had more spots for clickies (have so many that i hate to use the inventory window to swap out etc)

maybe you can post a screenshot of the inventory too?

This is near the greatest UI ever for me. I multibox a lot and do not have a powerful computer... only a adequate one. So 3 toons, running @ 620*480 reaches my limit. Your UI helps tons for each individual screen.
Any chance on making everything smaller for better multiboxxin
