the 5.6 version of Mav's Ranger UI-- I took over stewardship of it, and I'm sorry to say the BuffWindow problems are beyond me. (buffs no longer display icons, cannot click them off, window truncated.) I've tried specifying the window size in the INI file (or removing the specification altogeather) and still blows up.

Its intended to be run at 1280x1024 32bit color. (I run desktop & EQ at same settings)
I'll post the modified INI when I get home. (the one included isn't current)

Drakah Legacy fix
 
Here is my quick fixes to take care of the oddd sized, misplaced windows of Drakahs Legacy UI. This ini file is my layout so just close out any you dont need, open up new ones and positon to suit your own needs.

You will also need to redo fontsizes, filters colors etc

AYA UI broken...
 
Here's one that breaks for the BuffWindow:

UI_Stade_Druzzil.ini and UI_Kaduren_Druzzil.ini. If you want the entire ini file, I can give that too.

My desktop resolution is 1600x1200.

Game resolution is 1280x1024, which is all it's supposed to use.

I have tried Drakah's method(s) and found that going to the default ui and resizeing the windows worked. I also experimented a bit to see if I can do with without having to go into files and change certain things. Didn't work, but found out a way to fix it back to default when things get worse.

I have found that when things go wrong and alot of windows are shorter than normal (expecially the chat window), that is hard to do anything in the game.

This is what I did:

I logged out of EQ. Seeing how the only thing I could see of my chat window was the title bar. I either type /camp or used the hotkey [CNTRL+X]. in windows I did a search of the toon's files, and deleted them all, then relogged in that toon's name. Everything was set back to the default ui where I could go and try something new to get the UI I wanted to load correctly.

Hope this info helps those who are at the point of pulling their or their toon's hair out. LOL :nana:

Well, using the set-default-mode-then-resize-buff-window trick, I managed to now get the buff windows set correctly, thx Drakah for suggesting that and Coagin for re-typing it.

The only 2 issues I seem to have now is:
1. I can't see the Atlas (though I never could in AYA).
2. more importantly, I can't see the stats of linked items, or items I right-click-hold from my inventory or bags.

Anyone else seeing this?

As far as I can tell, it isn't "broken". It's just now the game is now ignoring the width/height numbers that have been hardcoded into the UIs themselves, and instead is using whatever is in the ini file. Meaning a custom UI cannot dictate the width/height of the window. Which is not good when the UI has designed a window of a fixed size and doesn't allow it to be resized, meaning there is no way to modify the values in the ini file without manually editing the file. For instance, when I was out of the game, I opened my ini file and manually set the Width and Height of my Buff Window to the same values that were in my UI XML file (Width=820 and Height=102). When I re-loaded the game and logged back in that window looked fine.

Even though there's a way to get it working, this is a huge hassle, and I think it would be much better to switch back to old way of allowing the UI to dictate width/height.

If there are other problems caused by the latest patch, I am not aware of them.

They made changes to the EQUI_ItemDisplay.xml, make sure you have the new one in your UI folder OR delete the one in your custom folder so it pulls the one from Default.

Thanks, that did the trick. I also got rid of the AYA map. I now have an atlas again!

I tried this on my NEW!1.1 version.. I dont know what I did LOL but all the windows disappeared, but the words Main Chat :P. I only attempted to fix for about 15-20 mins.. Anyone want to give it a try ?

You have to open the XML window in the custom UI and jot down the CX and CY size of the window. You can find this information at the tail end of the file in "Screen Item" section.

Then, open your UI_charname_servername.ini file from your EQ directory and find the information relating to that specific window. (ex: [AAWindow])

Then alter, or add, the information needed for the resolution you are using. Follow the same format as the information that is already there.

For example: add or edit
Height1280x1024=432
Width1280x1024=400

to the correct height and width from the CX CY values you wrote down

You can only alter INI files when EQ is NOT loaded or logged in. It needs to parse the information during the launch of the game or it will not work.

Help!

I've made the changes in this thread (deleting those sections of the UI ini file and letting EQ recreate them) to Tablets Future Blue http://eqinterface.com/downloads/fileinfo.php?id=2401 and the UI works... sort of. But the buffs/shortbuffs are not right; They are horizontal instead of vertical, the titles are misplaced, and they only show like 14 buffs. The new buff and shortbuff windows are not resizable, even when not locked.



What have I done wrong? I've even edited the 1600x1200 settings in those sections, reloaded the UI, logged out and back in... all to no avail.

Thanks for any help. Raiding today without being able to see my buffs and debuffs was interesting, to say the least. :)
