Old UI changes?
 

I looked at the changes as posted to the UI and decided to implement the changes as indicated on the post for the 5/16 changes.
However I am using the default old UI as made by Drakkah and downloaded that etc after tbs.
After making the changes the UI would not load. Either I made the changes incorrectly (checked it 2x) or the changes are not correct to modify the UI I downloaded from here. Also the UI I downloaded did not have a SIDL file in it. I put it in -still did not load.
Are the changes to be made somehow different if you are using the Old default UI?

Also having difficulties getting this to load up.

I have tried changing all the updated files in default to Drakah's UI. It comes up with the same message.

I have also tried extracting the old_TBS release of the UI and changing the EQUI xml file to have the command <Include>EQUI_HtmlWnd.xml</Include>.

In short, I have also tried numerous different ways including copying a version of default, and into that copying all files from old_TBS apart from the updated ones with no luck.

all the UI's that have a custom xml file will be broken until they are updated

Try these files - if they work let me know and I'll post them as a patch to the UI.

If they do not work please post the error lines from your UIErrors.txt file (you must open that file while you're in game, when you log out the file is emptied).

nm, I figured it out.

Copied SIDL.xml from default to old ui folder

Copied EQUI_HtmlWnd.xml from default to old ui folder

In EQUI_HtmlWnd.xml changed:
<DrawTemplate>WDT_Filigree</DrawTemplate>
to
<DrawTemplate>WDT_Def</DrawTemplate>

Worked for me.

not sure if any here have figured it out but if not here it is :) the equi book window xml file is messed up i had to download an updated vert ui from this site than take the equi book window xml file and put in my other folders including the old default ui and all works ok now :) the equi book window xml i found was 9.01 kb it was not the same size as the 1 i downloaded from sony on patch day. just find this file from the updated vert ui folder on this site added with the other 4 equi files and past in your ui folder all should work fine :) here is the link to the page for the ui with the right equi book window xml file just save the Quartz Redux folder and copy / past the files to your ui folder.http://www.eqinterface.com/download...c&sb=lastupdate

Glad I could help out and get people going again. I know how hard it is to be without the UI that you're used to. :)

i've a modded version of drakk UI, namly group, player, hotkey windows.
i've downloaded drakk UI with the patch files to a new folder and still am unable to get it to load correctly.

i get this error

Did you load the new book window? the Default one won't work because it has a Filigree command in it which the UI does not use.

There's no Filigree in the Book Window. It's in the new HtmlWnd.xml. Wish they'd just stop using that, lol. It's kinda foofy anyway.

That error above is from the new pieces of the book window not being declared in your custom EQUI_Animations.xml file.

Edit -- hmm, that should stop the errors, but it may not display properly without also defining the image locations. Have to look at that later.

If you guys want a slightly more durable fix to the UI, rather than changing the WDT_Filigree entry in most new windows, open up EQUI_Templates.xml, duplicate WDT_Rounded and renamed the copy to WDT_Filigree.

You won't need a half dozen barely changed XML files for each new window, and when a patch adds yet another window with the WDT_Filigree border, your UI won't break.

ok, I still cant get UI`s working. I cant even seem to load Drak`s default_old. I keep getting the new default UI. I`ve tried everything you all have said to do and still no luck. I have no clue what I`m doing wrong. I dont even get an error message while trying to load any of the UI`s I`ve tried, it just keeps loading the new default. Anyone else have this problem or am I just that unlucky?

While you have EQ running after you try to load a UI window out and go to your Everquest folder, in there you should have a UIErrors.txt file, that file will tell you what is wrong with what you are using. You have to open it while EQ is running, it gets cleared when you exit EQ.

If you post the errors people can tell you what needs to be fixed.

thanks for the reply, but I got it. I just started from scratch, fresh download of Drak`s, add all my other mods and got it running. Thought I had pretty much done that to begin with but I guess I messed something up.

I have downloaded a fresh copy but whenever i try to open the help or petition i get bombed out to the desktop anyone any ideas ?

Could it be something as stupid as the fact i am using IE 6 ?

I do get a white web window up when loggin back in , which does nothing this seems to pop up automatically.

Just like the story window - which i have never been able to force closed even if i tell it to.

Checked UIErrors.txt folder and all that goes on about is missing dragitems1 - 49. If i put them in the UI folder then i end up with the new ui which i dont want.

I use IE6 and have no issues, but I did have IE7 installed for a while until I got fed up with it not working on so many websites and un-installed it.

I have read some people having issues with firefox, but not IE6. Try updating windows, but rather than hitting the "recomended" button, hit "custom" and then download everything you can except IE7. Doubt it will help, but updating windows is always the best place to start when having issues.

Also, as much as I hate to say it, the Sony EQ website may be a good place to look as well in the tech issues area.

My OS is fully patched

Not sure if its just me so I'll ask. I've got the full ui from Drakah, but now I have spell icons that are about half the size and the spellbook and inventory windows are completely different compared to default.

How do I get back the old ones if its even possible? (At least its the right icons!)
