UI Redevelopment
 

Hello folks. I have maintained various pieces of UI over the years from different parts. I have been able to maintain them based on an extremely limited knowledge of XML and making edits. With the conversions soon to the new UI engine, this is going to make EQ unplayable for me (yes, I know I'm being a baby about default UI).

I'm looking for someone that is able to figure out how to convert my UI into proper html5 to work. I have no idea what I'm doing with it nor where to even begin to start. The DBG provided converter doesn't work.

No one has made anything for new UI engine and published it yet

But in the meantime you should upload it to the UI/downloads section so that when someone does do an update they can post a patch to it as another download

id be willing to take a look at it for ya but sadly i dont take requests that lead me to other web pages if u want to take the time to upload it here i will be more then happy to take a look at it.

I am hoping they support all of the things that HTML5 supports, like custom jscript, and other code-behind, for example. If so, then the new UI engine will be very powerful indeed.

Converter?
 

I'm hoping their 'converter' actually someday gets to a state where it is actually able to convert an existing UI into something that at least has a possiility of working. But I'm not holding my breath.

It's going to suck having to figure out how to rebuild my UI from scratch when they finally decide to turn off the current 'UI engine' and force everyone to use the new one.

I'm dreading having to try to learn a new language to try to rebuild it :(

I'm also dreading this, but I am also kind of thinking that they are still more than a year from finishing it. What I dread about my setup is that I have a number of extra files: an EQUI.xml (that points to the default folder's EQUI.xml and my other custom files), Custom_Animations.xml, Custom Template.xml, and similar files which I added to make my UI be resistant to random changes of the UI files I don't use.
