8-14-07 patch broke UIs

It appears to me that the change messing with the UI is in EQUI_Animations.xml. I deleted this file from my custom UI and it let me load it. Now I'm just waiting for the file change comparison to be able to update my Animations window accordingly. Hope it gets posted soon.

Tried that fix for TBS Vert, didn't work just defaulted right back to the Default UI after a few secs.

Ack, must be more than one thing needed to fix it completely.

Aye, tried deleting EQUI_Animations from Tablets Blue 3.02 and spit me out to default :(

This might let you at least play using your UI ... but it won't include the new card game BS. Just should fix the crashing.



-- go to Program Files -> Sony -> Everquest -> uifiles -> default

-- copy the file EQUI_TCGStartupWnd.xml and paste it into your custom UI folder

-- from your custom UI folder, open that file in Notepad or whatever

-- use Find or Search to locate this string .. Filigree

-- you should find 5 Filigree and 1 FiligreeThin throughout the file

-- change each Filigree and the one FiligreeThin to ... Def

-- Example: what you will see on the lines where Find/Search takes you is <DrawTemplate>WDT_Filigree</DrawTemplate> ..... what you want to see is <DrawTemplate>WDT_Def</DrawTemplate>


-- After changing those 6 lines, save the file inside your custom folder (as an xml .. Notepad will try to save it as txt, heh)

-- Reload your UI in-game .....

Well, I never crashed the game, and that "fix" didn't work for Tablets Blue 3.02 :(

I renamed the xml files that were updated and also copied and edited the file as per the above post, I'm still not able to load my SARS UI, loads the default instead

It fixed Sars for a couple guildmates. Dunno how well it will work for others.

Will depend on how they're set up.


Was just a quickie idea that worked for that. Feel free to wait for your authors to update their own work.

Temp fix for my Infiniti UI, the target window is a little off, showing the con color box from the default there, but a minor setback till the author can fix it =)

Fixed Infiniti enuf to use it. title bars are WAY small, but otherwise useable. Similar enuf to Tablets I can cope until Tablets gets an update, :)

What'd you do to Infiniti to make it work? none of these suggestions are working.

Tried everything here so far and what makes sense for SARS UI. No luck as of yet, crashes to default

Read Wymp's post, this also fixed Tablets with NO other changes. DO NOT delete or alter any other file other than what Wymp posted, and Infiniti and Tablets will work. :)

Even though none of my UIs use custom versions of the modified windows, I could not log in with any of my characters. It seems that some change has corrupted all of my UI_Character_server.ini files. I deleted them, started a character and set up the UI by hand, then copied his ini file for all of my other characters, and now they can all log in.

Strange, especially since nothing they did should have "broke" anything. Just sucks to have to move all my windows back, especially transparent ones and repositioning chat windows...
