I get some of the normal errors about files missing and that is fine but since the patch yesterday I get a "Your XML files are not compatable..." when logging onto EQ.

Upon checking the UIErrors.txt the only part that sticks out is part of what's listed in the above UIErrors.txt. Specifically the part that says "Could not find child XXXX in window GroupWindow" but the Group Window looks fine to me on screen.

Maybe the creators of Ver 2.6 will have a fix soon.

Look in your vert folder for these two files

EQUI_JournalNPCWnd.xml
EQUI_JournalTextWnd.xml

delete both of them.

we had modified the two of them for a better fit. but they reworked them in this patch.. not a critcal crash type error... but will give you the message in game.

PS.. the rest of that error log is fine.. its expected.

I was also getting an XML error so i just did what you said, deleting those 2 files and im still getting an XML error, and UIErrors reads:

The journal windows do need to be deleted but! :)

Just get the vert 2.6 b <--< yes b
the 2.6 I posted previously I forgot to rename the labels that show Like %hp etc to match what sony decided they should be named. Vert 2.6b loads with 0 <-----< ZERO warnings :)

the above also tells me you have a mod installed that references tkspellbar.tga and it can't find it thats going to cause you trouble, even if the UI loads it may lagg you. Vert 2.6 does not refrence this tga.

Possible Bazaar crash bug
 

After several hours in-game, I entered the Bazaar and promptly crashed with an internal game error when trying to open the Bazaar window via a hotkey. This happened three times.

I don't know for sure if this is Vert-related or not, but I thought I should mention it just in case anyone else encounters something similar.

Kudane, thanks for the info regarding deleting those two files to clear that "not compatible" message. That message was causing me a little concern, too, so I'll give that a try.

I also posted to the vert2.4 thread about a couple other issues with 2.6 that I encountered. If you haven't already, please check it out at your convenience.

It's been there in 2.5 aswell I fixed it, but in the process of adding LDOn fixes I over wrote the changes, then forgot about them, but Version 2.6c works like a charm :)

Actualy Vert only has EQUI_JournalTextWnd.xml
Modified :) And there is no warnings involved with it at this time.
Especialy since Sony no longer calls this file so it can be safely deleted as it's no longer used.

As for the Bazaar there no changes to the bazaar window, so it is a EQ Client issue.

I'll check your post on the 2.4 thread.

2.6c? thats what i found but no 26.b :p

The bazaar issue is a reported EQ Client bug where you crash if there are more than 500 traders in bazaar and you try to open or use the bazaar window

any clue or idea on this error? i use vert 2.6d as well, but i cant seem to be able to load it...:(

This is the name of the file i dowloaded "2-Vert26c-Ocean-Spray.zip" and even with this file i get the error above...

he forgot to remove these to files.. please delete them.. (as posted above) and that will go away...

The, EQUI_JournalNPCWnd.xml is NOT included in Vert,
and the EQUI_JournalTextWnd.xml is no longer used and can be ignored.

Look at the error, it's calling it from the DEFAULT folder........

I've currently lost guild management window functionality using vert2.6c. Any ideas what might be interferring? Getting no significant errors when loading the UI, or in the UIErrors.txt file. If I revert back to older vert versions with errors guild management will work.

That is odd, and most likely coicidence, I did not mod the guildmanegment window, most likely it's a random occuring error, and will be inherent in ALL UI's even default or a random bug. You can't have a UI caused error in a window not moded, or notreferencing any moded windows.

sounds like you have two UIs mixed.. try a fresh install of 2.6c

I made a clean install of vert2.6c, last night, and I also noticed an odd glitch with the guild management window. Suddenly, only one name would appear (and it wasn't mine). The problem went away when I exited the game and came back, though. Everything seems to be working perfectly, now.

I seem to have some problem with the hotbuttonwnd in the latest vert (2.6c)

I downloaded it, installed it, ran ccake on the hotbuttonwnd and then started EQ. I got the following in the errors file at the end after it lists all the files it's going after in the default area:

CCake is out of date!!!

Hehe.

The xml it generates still references image data in window_piecesxx instead of solwindow_piecesxx.

This program needs an update or folks need to be warned it makes bad xml atm. I hand editted the generated XML to fix it though. A simple search and replace of ALL instances of window_pieces to solwindow_pieces does the trick.

Ccake is not doing this, the copy of the default EQUI_HotButtons.xml inside the CCake folder that has done this..

Ccake takes its data from the file inside the folder with it.. simply copy the NEW EQUI_Hotbuttons.xml from the main folder INTO the Ccake folder THEN run CCake (and when done insert into the EQUI_Hotbuttons.xml file in the main vert directory) and it should work just fine.

will update 2.6d to reflect this change tonight to prevent anyone else from having this issue.

i have the 2.6c installed, i get no incompatible errors in my chat like before since goign to C, but i do get this error in my UIErrors.txt , reapeating endlessly multiple times every second.... any clues?

look in "vert26-ocean-spray" and see if there is a subfolder. if so.. move all files out of it (move them into the vert26-ocean-spray" folder)

Sokol - You said to d/l Vert 2.6 B to avoid that error with the hp in the group and target windows, but the only available version on this site is 2.6 C. Will there be a version 2.6 D to correct this minor glitch or will you be putting a link to the appropriate fixed file for download?

2.6c comes after 2.6b :) The problem is that ccake causes problems :) There realy si no reason for a 2.6d as of yet since 2.6c works. There are as after any sony patch random CLIENT side problems, but thats it, download 2.6c and don't use ccake.

simply over-write all the objects in your CCake folder with the contents of the attached zip, and it will work correctly again. no more lost graphics.
