zone connections for Story window
Has anyone developed Zone Connections for the Story window. I don't know if this is even possible, but it would be so useful!

If no one has, you could try doing it, just go to EQAtlas.com.
Great idea - if you or anyonelelse is doing it, I will be one of the first to start using it :)
how would the entries go though:
<link>Continent<link> <link>Connecting zone <link><------Zone------><link>Connecting Zone<link> This is the only format i came up with in my head. |
Here is what I think would work...
=========================== Greater Faydark --------------------- Contains 2 PoK books at loc: -200, -870 -2200, -1850 Connecting zones: <LINK>Buthcherblock Mountains (PoK)</LINK> <LINK>Clan Crushbone</LINK> <LINK>Felwithe</LINK> <LINK>Lesser Faydark</LINK> <LINK>Plane of Knowledge</LINK> =========================== And the (PoK) designation to see which zones contains PoK books. Links would be to simelar pages...?!? (Numbers for PoK-books are just figurative and not actual locations) |
that format looks as though it would work fine. I still think i'd have it subdivided by continent though.
Agreed - now all we need is a coder to make it happen for us :)
I can't promise with any due swiftness, but I can work on it.
That would be sweet m8 :)

I would have a generic menu sorting the zones by letter. Something like this:
Code:
... then if you press a letter like "W" it would bring up all zones starting with "W". Yes, this would be more work, but it would solve the problem of having mega-long lists of zones to navigate through. An example of a zone would look something like this: Code:
The Letter menu should be visible at all times for swift navigation. I don't think you would have to make links for the Adjacent Zones, but you could if you wanted to. Just depends how lazy you want the user to be. |
That could also work ...
Step 1:
I've got a working format of index pages and such going. It will take time to get all the pages together, but it will happen.
Here's the link system I have, I think it'll work:
Looks realy GREAT, cant wait for the final result :)
