Spell Gem Question
 

I'm not really sure where to post this question since it's not one particular UI, but here goes. This is for my ranger character, the spell icon for "Feet like cat" does not show up on the spell bar when I memorize it although it's there and I am able to cast it. After casting, it shows on the buff bar but never in the spell bar and this happens with all UIs, even the default. Just wondering if there is any way to fix that? It's not a major problem, just very annoying. Thanks for any help.

Sounds to me like either have a spell icons file missing or isnt called in the animations file correctly...is this a new issue or always been like that??

I was away for quite some time, so it's new since I returned about 3 months ago. I'm using updated UI and Etasi spell gems.

does the ui have a custom animations file??

Yes, but I've tried several different UIs including the default and still have same problem.

Does it do the same thing with any other spell?.. or JUST Feat like Cat?

You are saying, the spell cast window where you load the spells to cast is buged?.. but buff windows is not .. correct? If so, have you tried another spell cast window? Does this happen in every spell slot in the spell cast window 1-10?.. or just one?
This happens with all UI's even Default?... so you /loadskin and chose Default and Feet like Cast spell in the spell cast window is not showing up?

Hi, and thanks for responding and trying to help. I'm saying it only happens with one spell (Feet like Cat- a ranger spell). All other spells work fine and show the icon in spell bar and in buff bar. :confused:

1) If you /loadskin and chose Default.. does it do it then?

( only the default files are in the ui. no custom )

IF this happens with /loadskin and choseing Default... then IMHO it's a /bug that needs to be brought to the attention to Sklug etc. that would stump me:P
IF it does NOT happent in the Default, then it can be narrowed down to another solution.

2) Did you try to change out the spell cast window? ( not selling my piece here but ) try this http://www.eqinterface.com/download...nfo.php?id=5577 JUST to see if it changes things. Copy and paste your old one to ? desktop? so you can put it back.

Thanks Smileyface and Halelen, I will try the default ui again and also a new spell bar. Hope one of them helps :(

Comes down to the custom UI IMHO. I can not see it happening with Default only.

Your using an updated UI but a 5 yr old download.. that's probably your issue.That author does have a nice ui for that era :D Maybe I'll see if I can get it working;P (make it updated )

Look in Sony.. Everquest folder.. find UIErrors.txe .. so when in Everquest folder hit the U key until it highlights. open .. copy and paste here. Just out of curiosity.

Well, I tried the Default UI and also another spell bar with the same results. I even tried new spell gems (the TKing gems)...same results with all. Even though the "Feet like Cat" spell is memmed, the slot appears to be empty. The name of spell does show when I mouse over it though, just no icon. It's so weird. I'll keep trying to figure it out and if anyone has a solution, it will be much appreciated.

sounds like you need to report it something is amiss.

/loadskin.. Default.. zone.. load the spell set again. Still have issue?

No UIerrors. Load default gives same results as other uis. Guess it's time for tech support :(

Ok, will try that and then zone (didn't zone before). I'm willing to try anything
