the Ui i was using the person is no longer updating it, how do I go about may-be updating it myself is there a ui program or something I know nothing about the ui interface creation or anything, I can not stand the default UI and cannot seem to find the one I want other than the one Iw as using < wiznuts> and now he is GOA from the game can anyone help me

most of the time when a UI breaks it is due to animations. so what you have to do is find what parts of the defaul equi_animations file is missing from your animations file and that will usually fix it. dont need any fancy software..can use notepad to do it though there are programs out there (some are free, some cost) Me i use Notepad, notepad+, or Beyond Compare for all my ui work.

Wiznut UI is worked off Haliken old_default. Soon that will be fixed and Ill post the patch for wiznut.

What about for a UI that needs more work? The Emil UI was long my favorite. It's so nice and minimalist, and while there are a lot of nice UIs out there, none seem to do what his did. Unfortunately I think Emil has left the game and the UI has not been updated since late 2006. I would love to take over updating this UI but I have no earthly idea how to do anything with XML beyond making windows shorter and changing clicky slots. Does anybody have advice?

My advice is to make a UI folder..

Take out one by one .. EQUI_ file from this ui you like and place it in your new made ui folder. /loadskin.. one by one you will see the issue that breaks the UI. You do not need any EQUI_ files that you dont need in your custom UI folder as the missing files will be read from Default anyway. Seek your information in UIErrors.

Narrow down the break. Looking at the screenshot, the buffwindow probably can be found.. hot button window.. chat windows.. all in the download section of this site. piece it .

This is my advice since you are admitting no knowledge of doing UI's.

Once you narrow down the issue.. you can make a new HELP post on that piece you found breaking the ui. Don't post the first thing you see.. remove the broken piece and load another EQUI_ file you see.. narrow down the issue.

The game has changed.. Animations has changed.. Things won't work like they used to.. A lot of pieces you download from the site now may not even work. You probably won't have the exact UI you want but you can enjoy some of the pieces if you look for them.

Reading the players comments this UI has been broken for years.

Thanks for the advice! I know that the group window with target and HoTT will be broken because it does not contain a window for the buff icons for the target. So I'm going to tinker with it in-game tonight and see what I can do. I foresee that this forum will be filled with many questions lol.

take a screenshot of you target window you were using.. please don't hesitate to search the download section first, maybe that piece is updated already . With UI's that are outdated from years back.. there are a lot of issues that maybe at hand.. a total re-code of all the featured pieces in it. There is old patch notes to view.. help section in this website to view.. players commenting on there buff window.. group window.. player window.. target window.. pet window.. spell cast window.. window selector window..then there are key files.. animations.. templets.. the list goes on.

That's weird, I can right-click on the links I posted and open them with no problem in a new Firefox window or tab. :/

It's because of how the forums truncate a long url to shorten it for space. It should still work though if you right click and select open in new tab or window. I'm assuming IE has some similar features by now that compare with Firefox. If you try to copy/paste the url, that will never work since you're missing a lot of it in the center.

can someone add the 2 extra spell gem slots to the emil ui? make 3 rows of 4 gems each please?

also, add an extra potion belt slot?

would love it!
