Quartz skin set
First, this skin is amazing, VI should license this from statix for EQII.
I've got one minor problem. Try as I might, I can't get the <action> box to display. Looking at the .ini file suggests it should be available, but I can't get it, either on loadup or with a hotkey. Any thoughts? Fahan |
Best way to fix it..
Drop his .ini back in, rename it and such(reinstall basically) and make sure you're in the right resolution(1280x1024)

I'm having problems with this skin.
1st I can not locate the buff window no mater what resolution I use and I checked my Ini file and it says its supposed to be there. 2. My action window is located in the middle of the screen and I can not move it 3. when going to the socials section of the action menu my window background is not large eough to cover all the social buttons thanks in advance for any help you can give. |
OK, I did the "reinstall" but it didn't help. Then I thought to recheck the screen resolution, and it had reverted to 1068x780 (or whatever that one is).
I tried a bunch of times to change it in game, but was never able to make it stick. Very odd. I guess I'll have to stick with my not very elegant arrangement of standard ones 8^( Fahan |
Ok, installed this on 3 machines...here is the trick
You MUST follow these steps EXACTLY!!! 1. Copy your default folder and rename it Quartz 2. copy all the objects from the zip file into your new quartz folder.. over-writing ALL when prompted (It MUST be named quartz 3. in your main eq directory find UI_<charactername>_<server number>.ini (mine is UI_Kudane_91.ini for example) 4. RENAME THIS FILE adding _backup (for mine it would be UI_Kudane_91_backup.ini) 5. Copy the UI_Stratix_31.ini file into your default directory... 6 Rename the file _<charactername>_<server number>.ini (again for me.. UI_Kudane_91.ini) again you MUST DO EVERY STEP.. (ok you dont need a backup of your INI but its better to have it) If you dont like the mod later... simply swap the names on you backup and regular file... I like the skin alot (have yet to try it for myself)
But can you hide all that information? seems to be a slight overload on the info. If EQII was to be like this I'd have to hope they also make it customisable as I'd want to remove most of it from sight. Graphically pleasing but not practical. |

yeah, well i tryed to do this sikn and it worked, but all the boxes where all over the place, how do i fix that? Thanks :-)

right click on the box, unlock, then u can move it....
couple of things i found initially the buff box was set to 0 x 0 and was not shown - so - I went to the UI_playername_24 in the main everquest folder - this appears to set all the parts of the skin for when it initially starts I made some changes - like setting the boxes i did not know the sizes of to 200 x 200 and called them to appear at 400 x 400 - then i could resize them one final thing - the actions window was an absolute pain to set and move - so - for those who run at 1280 x 1024, this part of the code will put it in the right place: [ActionsWindow] XPos1280x1024=1168 YPos1280x1024=870 |
One mod that impressed me was "Quartz". All the stuff fit nicely across the bottom of the screen, so that you could then use "viewport" and have the stuff in the bottom on all the time if you like it like that.
I installed it following the directions and ended up with everything displaying properly, once I changed my resolution size and completely reinstalled it (I had to play around with it some to get it to work right). The problem I have with the mod is that the inventory screen doesn't display correctly. When I type "I" I get an inventory screen that says that I'm level 60 (twice), that I am a big fan of Mithaniel Marr (I'm a shadowknight of Rallos Zek, thanks), all my stats and resists set to 255. I'd much rather use an old-style inventory screen. I don't know why the inventory screen was messed up on the Quartz setup. I then tried modifying the inventory screen by copying over one from a different mod. That didn't seem to work quite right either. When I've tried loading mods from two different programmers, and both of them have a "hitpoints" dispaly, one of the hitpoints displays invariably won't work right. -Bolas |
Ok, I must be an idiot or something, I have followed EVERYONE's suggestion, it still doesn't work.
My first question is this: is this mod meant only for a certain screen size? My monitor is a 15" with viewable 13", so all the windows are too large and all over my screen. I can unlock all the windows except for the Actions and the Windows Selector doesn't appear at all. Help!? :confused: |

Ok, I am an idiot, got it working. Still have one problem though:

The problem you are having with the inventory screen is that the labels are displayed at the bottom. Labels AT THIS TIME can only be displayed in one place. This will be corrected in the next patch.
