I didn't think you could get past like level 15 or 16 in D&D 2nd edition. That was the version I played (although I had first edition AD&D books, I think one is signed by Gary Gygax) and I never remember ever getting past level 8 personally

about a year ago one of the elder players in the circle wrote a whole new set of rules, abilities, spells, races and classes, so really it's not D&D2nd anymore... more like D&DFU :-)
