From what I can tell its a memory problem not exactly the amount but how its used. When you keep loading screens even if its the same one EQ loads all the graphics one more time so after a while the memory hog gets to big and boom
. If you cut all you high textures off and memory usage down it gives a few more reloads
. But zoneing may help by slushing all the loaded graphics and starting over with a fresh load
(not sure but sounds good
). I have also found that window mode (alt-enter) seems to give an extra load but it may be just me.
If EQ would give an off-line screen engine like Shadow Bane had (sp?) it would keep people from wasting server time by having 5 or 6 extra non-used characters on diferent servers and let people test high level mod windows (agments, ToT, and melee actions) not to mention seting screen sizes for borders.
Just my two cents worth
PS can not wait for launch pad to come to EQ hopefully it will let you pick your character at launch make for faster loading in my opinion
