Do you use a res smaller than...?
How many of you use small resolutions? like 800by600 and smaller? Currently working on one that fits in 800by600 or even 640by 4whatever... am I wasting my time?

I try make my mods useable for 800x600 and higher, even if I use 1280x1024 myself. A good mod doesnt have to be a large mod

~smiles~ I use 1024by768 usually, myself. I'm just making a smaller res skin for myself for Kunark zones (I lag only slightly in bazaar but horribly in DS and on Kunark :/ ) and wanted to see if it was worthhile to upload it when I finish it heheh, I removed *alot* of guages and replaced with text... much smaller, and less lag

If I'm just travelling through a certain extremely laggy place I have a special hotkey bank for "traveling" including two very useful hotkeys:
/viewport 480 412 320 200
(for 1280x1024 resolution)
and
/viewport 0 0 1280 1024
works very well

II was wondering about something else .. a lot of the animations, even single frames, have cycle=true, delay 1000. If setting them to cycle=false, or increase delay to 10000, would it affect performance?

I use 1280x1024. I like it because everything is not too big, nor too small. I like it because I use Kao's mod and everything there is perfect for 1280x1024.

I use 1280x1024 but am currently working on an 800x600 mod...the main problem I'm encountering is the text, because I find myself wanting to use size 0 which looks fine in SidlWidl but terrible in-game.

yep- best bet for making a UI is to design it for 1024x768 but make it almost as good in 1280x1024 and workable in 800x600.

Yeah seems most modders have 1280x1024 res going by all the mods i see. I still think their should be a way to orgainize mods by recommended resolution.

the thing is that most of us people who are into the UI stuff and the look of the game and who know or have the time to learn enough to design our own mods tend to have the uber l33t computers and a preference for 1280x1024 or better. Since few people will design a mod they wouldn't want to use themselves, that leaves few mods for the majority of actual players who play in 1024x768 or something close to that (actually I know a lot of people who play in odd resolutions like 1152x864).
It would be nice to see some mods with versions for several resolutions (hence my 800x600 project). Also, if we saw some UIs that really looked good in 800x600 I think more people would use it because it runs soooo much better. I even notice a big difference on my box...maybe I'm not so uber l33t anymore

LOL! Not so ub3r l33t anymore... ~sniggers~
I personally run in 1024 by 768 myself. My computer HATES EQ in larger res's, and I dun like huge windows like oyu get in smaller res's

Vixyn I like your chat window how it has no box around it. If you could, tell me how to include that in my UI so I don't lose my current settings for all the other things I have. Maybe post that in the Chat Window area.
