No, the breath element guage is not required either. If it were, then you would not be able to completely cease that window from ever being loaded, period, or else the UI would say, hey, missing required file Breathe_Guage.


To take a default UI folder, and then delete the line of code that causes it to be loaded into the UI (<Include>EQUI_BreathWindow.xml</Include>), and save that file, and load the skin should cause a crash, based on what you are saying, because that file is required.

However, it does not crash, and the breath window is never loaded, because it is not required.

This has already been establised, the problem is not with the fact that these files are required or not, it has to do with references to child elements, and the need to change those references to point to the correct place to find them.



EDIT : Correction, by deleting this <Include> line in the EQUI.xml file in a DEFAULT FOLDER, one with NO MODS, you are removing the guage also. THAT is what trashes the theory of things being required.
