This is my first time messing with the skins, so its still a learning experience for me.

You needed to download the patch and the following TGA file for it to work.
Soes, nice work!

Can someone help me
I am a newbie at this. I am trying to install this UI, but I can't seem to get it to work. I have renamed the .ini file in the skins dir of EQ. I am not sure what my servernumber is. I have 2 characters on the Innoruuk server. I made 2 ini files, one for each characters.
The instructions said to put it in the root dir, but I don't know if that is what I did. If someone could please help me that would be great.

Gonna try to make this more clear, lots of people not understanding the .ini file concept... hehe...
Look in your ROOT EQ Directory (usually c:\program files\Sony\EverQuest Trilogy) it may be different if you chose to install to a different directory.
In this directory scroll around until you see the UI_CharName_ServerNumber.ini file for your char... for instance mine is UI_Soes_35.ini...
Take the .ini file from MY UI ZIP FILE, rename it to the corresponding filename for YOUR character and OVERWRITE the exisiting ini file on your ROOT EQ Directory.
Any questions??

Hey Soe... would you be willing to make add numbers to your buff slots in your buff window and short duration buff window? I love your UI and this would make it even better for myself.
If you don't have the time, I understand

Where exactly, on the buff icon or beside it? This would be fairly easy to do...

1024x768 Users rejoice... it's almost ready...
Waiting to see if tomorrow's patch breaks it again... hehe.
There is just one problem, this version of the UI will remove the Blue & Red background icons from all Spell Icons (buff window, song window and spell book)... I tried for like 5 hours to figure out a way to seperate the background definitions for buff window and song window, but there is no way (that I could find) to do it. Any XML experts got a suggestion? Seems no matter how you define the background texture for buffs or songs, it defaults to the BlueIconBackground and RedIconBackground from EQUI_Animations.xml.

I think OVERWRITING ANY file on EQ directory is bad idea. Just simply rename .ini file to... whatevername.ini.old file. This way, you can always go back to orginal UI without hassle.
btw, great job on UI. =)

Soes,
Can you post up the short duration buff window you altered for that screenshot? It's really the only part that needs to be altered besides the pet window for the patch screwups.
Also I went ahead and fixed the pet window since then, the message was getting annoying. If you like I can post it up for you to include, all it does different is the sit/stand button works like it does in the unmodded pet window now, changing text.

I asked earlier and maybe it got overlooked. Can you post the link for your spell gem window, so I can use just that in my UI?
