Just an idea...
Does anyone think that it would be possible to make an inventory screen with an in-game pic of your char. I've seen ones where you can put a screenshot of your char there, but I mean as in the OLD OLD GUI when you went into the inventory mod and saw your char standing there in the upper right hand corner...I'd just thought it would be cool to see if anyone could do it

Would be a cool idea, however it isn't doable currently. I've been kinda fond of the old, old UI's method of doing that.

Why not?
In theory, you'd need the picture in a legal format (read something about the .tga formats somewhere else, forgot where... ), load the texture in the animations file (or maybe even the EQUI_Inventory.xml would be ok), give the animation a screen_ID and place it somewhere in your Inventory window.
Dunno the exact mechanics atm, but i can check when I'm back home....

illuvatar : we don't want pic , but what the the old , old , old UI did : showing you in 3rd person view in inventory ( a small zone just the size of your char where u can see yourself like if someone is "filming" you, being just in front of you )

Ah, ok, now I got it....
Nah, won't be possible unless we get a EQ_Type for an Animation that puts in the camera view realtime....
afaik we only got the EQ_types for labels, gauges and Inventory slots....

actually
VI intended on doing this as you can see by the fact that the auto equip box is not named "IW_AutoEquip" but named "IW_CharacterView", either its a problem with their code or they forgot to put it in.
