This doesn't solve either of you two guys main problem...just an observation.
I've noticed since the 10/16 paych that when useing the /loadskin command ingame the hotbutton labels are missing/screwed-up until I camp out and come back in. After the first time they display correctly.

Feebb

This has been this way for a while... Zoning fixes it too... the hotkeys DO WORK just the labels are missing, sooo zone and the labels restore..

I think I've figured it out... sorta.

I downloaded vert's full version in the download section and ran his patch and it works like a champ.

I believe (keep in mind I can't make my sig work) that because the UIBluilder uses a couple of different items from different people that it somehow messes things up. When using the full version from the same author, it works.

I'm just happy to not be ghetto old UI anymore. I'll worry about the bells and whistles later.

I hope this helps you.

Probably obvious..

But make sure the files extracted to the proper subfolder -

ie: uifiles\skinname

rather than

uifiles\skinname\skinname

Just a little observation here...

Quote:
In some UI's there does appear to be a strange little glitch showing up. Iceyblue is definitely one of them...

For some reason, using the loadskin window suddenly changes a line in the UI_character_#.ini like so:

Before: UISkin=iceyblue
After : UISkin=````

Do NOT use the loadskin window!!!

Using the loadskin window will get you nowhere really really fast. But it still gets you nowhere. It's broke.

use the /loadskin <skinname> 1 command. If you use the loadskin window, it won't load your skin. It will only load the default UI again, and posibly corrupt your .ini file. Just do it the hard way and type the command in.

Hi all,

I solved the problem, but the solution is an annoying one.

I had to uninstall all everquest files, delete the folders and reinstall.

I initially tried just uninstalling, but that doesn't actually get rid of everything and the UI still wouldn't work.

After a complete clean and reinstall all is well.

Thanks for your help with this mysterious malady.
