Default Newb question - need help

I have a hotbar customization that I want to edit:

http://www.eqinterface.com/download...nfo.php?id=4252

All i want to do is switch the order of the clicky items. According to the readme instructions all i have to do is change a few numbers. But when I open the file it wont let me do any editing.

I downloaded sidlwidl and .net

How to I open the file with the editor in order to make the changes I want to make?

Default Use notepad.

If you are simply trying to change a couple of numbers your best bet would be to open the file in Notepad.

I tried that to begin with but it gives me an error when I save it as .hml

When I put the file into the uifile folder, it reverts me to a default ui.

Its driving me crazy, i wish I could get it fixed.

If your saving it as .hml that's the problem. The File is .xml.
IF YOU ARE SAVING IT .XML Post your UIError log for additional help.

Sorry, i mistyped in the post. I was saving it as .xml

Where is the UI error file located? I did a windows search through files and came up with an UIErrors document, but when I opened it it was empty.

The only info I readily have is this error that is posted at the bottom of the file, and im not sure what it means or how to fix it:

The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.

Located in your main EQ directory. File is called UIErrors.txt This file is writen each time you Load a UI. Main thing to look for is anything other than Warnings. (Warnings are mainly there cause you may not be using a part of the UI and it just says can't find file in blah blah directory, loading from default.)
