Cannot get a new ui to work

sternn1 A Fire Beetle Join Date: Oct 2005 Posts: 3	Cannot get a new ui to work I know I must be doing something wrong... Here is what I have done. 1. Selected and downloaded a UI to my desktop 2. Went to UIFILES folder in Everquest and created a new file folder using a one name word (newui) 3. Right clicked the UI I downloaded to my desktop and selected extract all 4. Selected the Newui file folder under UIFILES under Everquest file 5. Click next and finish after it was done 6. Log on EQ and type /loadskin 7. Selected newui and nothing happens just goes back to the new default UI Is there something I am missing or doing wrong? I would greatly appreciate any help thrown my way. Thanks

deanoah A Hill Giant Join Date: Jan 2005 Server: Prexus Posts: 36	.tga = good (graphics files) .xml = good (holds the information of where the graphics go file folders = typically bad... well, not always, xml files ay say go look in another file folder, but need the xml files in this directory... tell ya what.. please give me the link where you downloaded it, i'll give it a swirly, see if i can duplicate problem, and pass on a solution. That work for ya?

deanoah A Hill Giant Join Date: Jan 2005 Server: Prexus Posts: 36	ACK! ok, tried it, had some trouble, but... first, is the DeltaXDoD the same look? (it's the more updated version... http://www.eqinterface.com/download...nfo.php?id=4341 ) 2nd, make the DeltaX directory, copy everything from default_old into it 3rd, unzip the DeltaX of your choice (to the uifiles directory... it automatically puts them in a DeltaXDoD (or DeltaX if you're determined to use that one) directory and if using the DoD one, copy all those files to the DeltaX directory.. either way, if it asks if you want to replace an existing file.. YES! (otherwise you stay with the default) problem seems to be with alot of UIs, they don't play well with the new default one as far as the windows arrangement, you're on your own keep an eye out for an updated one dated after the other night's patch. hope that helps.. if not, let me know please.
